Salaam,

I'm gonna move to Abu Dhabi for work related reasons in the next few months, insh'Allah.

Are there any Shia centres or masjids out in Abu Dhabi? Ok, if there's nowt in Abu Dhabi are there any in Dubai or anywhere else in the Emirates? I only became Shia proper very recently and therefore need to seek a lot of guidance and knowledge from scholars..shame if I'll have to do it all through the internet whilst I'm out there.

Somehow I get the feeling I'm gonna be disappointed.

Anyways, your answers would be much appreciated.

Wasalaam and Allahumma sale ala Muhammad wa ale Muhammad.

good luck!

Salaams bro. Baatil Ka Kaatil,

You asked..."Where in the north of England are you situated bro?!..." Actually I'm based in London, I just like that 'northern dialect'.

Cheers for the info everybody!

In Dubai the four Imambargahs are Satwa Imambargah, Hussain-e-Zahra, Mohammed Shah and Qusais ImamBargah. You can find their location easily especially satwa and qusais which are like named because of thier location.
In Abu Dhabi I know there is an Imambargah but can't help you out with the location.
If you want to know the exactl location,pm me. Though I no longer live in Dubai,I am pretty good with the locations.

Salaams bro. Muhammad Ali,

Basically, I was fortunate enough to have a friend who's gone out to the Emirates and found me an english-teaching job through another friend who's quitting his post. So if you have any friends or relatives living there, or anywhere else in the Gulf, or you know people who are gonna head out there, I suggest you give them your CV and ask them to keep an eye out for the relevant job vacancies.

Failing that, there are on-line business directories dealing with job vacancies in various employment sectors (including IT) throughout the Gulf.

Anyhoo, here's a link to an employment agency, which I believe is based in Dubai, to help you in your quest. I hope it's of use, insh'Allah:
http://www.bacdubai.com/home.html

Basically, I wanna leave the west for more or less the same reasons as you akhi..plus I've been an unemployed bum since graduating from Uni in 2001..figure it's time I got a job and stopped watching daytime telly all day (Magnum PI, Colombo etc).

PS - Thanks for your kind help bro akhbari.

Wasalaam and 'happy-hunting'
