I just wanted to know...that wherever I've seen the portraits of Jesus (peace be upon him) ...he was same...I mean with few exceptions....How is it possible??? :s
I am attaching one of his pic ...which I got from some advertisement at yahoo..

[color=#000000:post_uid0]Well, if you look at some African portrayals of Jesus, it is quite different. However, since the Western World has adopted Christianity and has helped it spread the most, they have adopted, also, a picture of Jesus that best suits what we, Westeners, look like. It is way off from what he looked like, probably, but the first pictures we have of him date from about the 3rd century A.D. and they are the same pictures that we have today.

[color=#000000:post_uid0]I'd have to agree with Krogher.  In the times of the early church, people needed someone they could relate with and to see a picture of someone that looked different than them and to be told that they were to worship him would have been difficult as at that time you did not know of (or see for that matter) anything that was not probably within a few miles of your house.  Jesus was a Jew and undoubtedly looked as such, not as a White Anglo-Saxon.  The common look is so popular now, it'd be hard to change it.  Oh well...thanks
