Selam alaycom,
Sorry, I read it and deleted it and was going to write sis K and ask her about her studies first.
Anyway, I believe sis Katrina is doing master's degree or higher? Correct? So far, Qatar University only has master's degree in business and a few science fields Qatar University. There is no PhD program yet. The other existing colleges: College of the North Atlantic, Virginia Commonwealth and Cornell are all just starting and have bachelor's degrees only. Qatar is a pretty small country and the job opportunities for westerners are mainly in education or the oil/petroleum sector. Most are hired from outside by recruiting agencies, since you need a sponsor to work here. If you have American citizenship and would like to chance your luck with the oil companies here, I can get their addresses or faxes.
You may want to consider UAE. The job opportunities are better there, especially in Dubai. Maybe br. Bahlool can be of help there. He used to live in UAE. There is an American University in Sharjah. Otherwise, your wife will get into trouble with arabic language requirements (she doesn't know Arabic, does she?)
Also, Florida is for retirees and college students on spring break. Why don't you consider relocating to Chicago, Detroit or New York? That is, until your wife can finish her degree. I know you are having a tough time, but be patient. Inshalla, Allah will bless you with sustenance : Allah yerziq min yeshaa bi ghair hisab.....
Regrets, I wish I could be more help.
Peace,
Um Ali

I think it is, but mostly it's a british state designed to hoard all the wealth and oil to UK/USA. Hence it also has friendly relations with Israel.

Selam alaycom,
LOL, no that is Saudi Arabia. We have a few, but even the mainstream sunnis dislike them. They are on their way out...
Don't mind br. Mujahid's dislike for Qatar. His abhorrence reeks of one who was deported or denied a visa....
Peace,
Um Ali

Selam alaycom,
I don't know where you all get this stuff from. Maybe a few of them, not the majority.

Now now, why am I being insulted? Please show me if anything I said about your lovely Qatar is false.

Selam alaycom,
So, which one was it: denied or deported? Have you heard of the Aesop's fable: the fox and the grapes? Do I have to get out my flag and national anthem again????
Peace,
Um Ali

Neither denied or deported, cuz I never had any interest to go there. What the heck is Aesops fable? never heard of it.
So you agree that Qatar is a state installed by UK, and used by USA/UK, and that it has friendly relations with Israel?
Why did Qatar build the world's largest air base and donate it FOR FREE to the USA so that it can bomb Iraq?
can you answer that one...then pull out your Qatar flag.

Because if the USA dont protect them then Saudi will invade. In 1992 Saudi invaded the area that joined Qatar to the UAE with hardly any resistance at all.

so Saudia doesn't recognzie Qatar's boundaries? lol
Yes they wanted to kiss US's butt some more, but US would never let Saudia take over Qatar.

Salaam,
to be fair I understand that Qatar is the only country in the Middle East with an almost fully functioning Israeli embassy, though for official purposes it doesn't call itself an embassy as such, though carries out those functions.
As for the Wahabbi issue, most books document Qatar as a country with a wahabbi majority, though not quite as zealous as their Saudi counterparts.
Weren't Qatar and Bahrain initially part of the UAE, then both pulled out in the 70s?

Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (as) said: "Have you fully realised what Islam is? It is indeed a religion founded on truth. It is such a fountain head of learning that several streams of wisdom and knowledge flow from it. It is such a lamp that several lamps will be lighted from it. It is a lofty beacon of light illuminating the path of Allah. It is such a set of principles and beliefs that it will fully satisfy every seeker of truth and reality. Know you all that Allah has made Islam the most sublime path for the attainment of his supreme pleasure and the highest standard of His worship and obedience. He has favoured it with noble precepts and principles, undoubtable arguments, unchangeable supremacy and undeniable wisdom"
