its not what they fry them in, its what the macdonalds buys there chips half fried in anyway. they buy their chips half fried/frozen and there they include beef tallow, but maccas sum fry them in vegtable oils, but its not what they fry them in, its what they buy them fried in already, they obviously dont buy potatoes and cut them up and fry them, they buy frozen bags

NO, THEY USUALLY FRY THEM WITH JUST VEGETABLE OIL.  BUT ON THE FRIES THEY USE FLAVORING

I have also heard that Dunkin Donuts uses lard to fry their donuts and bagels (only some of the donuts ~ not all)

My friend who is a vegitarean alerted me of this issue, since her sister used to work there. After a while, we went to ask someone else working there...and they said YES.
I sent them an email also to confirm, but i never got a reply back

Forget the fact that they are haram, how about this:

450 Calories 200 Cal. from fat. 22 grams of fat  4 Sat. fat.  

Just deep fry some cardboard, it'll be healthier for you.

I heard Colgate is haram too.

i think in the UK the fries are suitable for vegetarians and dont have beef flavouring so check it out.

What on earth is this!!!I've been using Colgate for ages...now you come and tell me it's haram How am I gonna brush my teeth tonight! and when I asked for a list somewhere earlier on the forum, no one bothered to offer me one. ..

ok and I have another question, fries at "fish & chips" if you've ever heard of it...we asked the worker and she said that they used "veg. oils" but didn't elaborate further. In that case, do we just trust her, and assume that there are no flavours added?? I am confused....

halal kfc? seriously? wow. that sounds tasty! as much as i like to avoid the fried foods, i think that would be nice once in a while. why can't canada have such innovative things? we're like stuck in the dark ages with all of our beef tallow and pork fat.

When we came to Canada, we checked up on a lot of things that were haram, and we found Colgate on that list as well.

Actually...i just found out that Dunkin Donuts is OK to eat, according to this website:

I had a list for halal/haram “food”only…and I keep hearing about those few things here and there- other than food.  Never actually had a list for all materials   that’s the sad part. As for McD's, KFC and those fast foods, forget it. I don't even bother going there.
Also, I’d never trust those lists on the net…but this one looks reliable…and I think I’ve heard of this association, since my bro’s used to go to one of their schools…

I need some clarifications regarding some of the soaps as well.. The fatwa from Seyyid Al Sistani's office didn't seem to object using the soaps that contained fat materials (a thread was created sometime ago), so how come do I see now that there are some "good" and "bad" ones.???

^Dhul, I believe it's only true for North Americans.  

Even the Mc Fries in Britain are free of beef flavouring (I remember someone posting a link about their ingredients).
