To improve ShiaChat.com, I would..

It's better than when new members come in here and ask to know about Shi'ism in short, they get blasterred with zillions of different links by zillions of members at a time, to complicated websites mostly. Let it all be here in resume. From there people interested in Islam/Shi'ism might start strolling on to the other existing forums to know more and more.

Seeing how SC has been growing more and more popular and attracts members daily, and pops up in most Shi'aah related searches in Google and Yahoo... I think SC needs a new hyperlink, above all the "forums" list on the left... "Introduction To Shi'ism" or "Shi'aah Islam" or "Islam", any sort of title. In it would be a summary of Shi'aah Islam or the real Islam, where new members, especially non-Muslims and Sunnis can enlighten themselves before entering other specific forums about any other specific subject. In summary it will discuss the core belief, maybe a few small paragraph afterwards. "Usool Al'Deen", "Furoo' Al'Deen" "Khums" "Temporary Marriage", The Ahlulbaayt' s., their names, some minor hadeeth of what the Prophet s. said about them, (the two weighty things and stuff like that)... etc... All in little paragraphs each with it's relating reference in the Qur'an. This would of course be a locked thread, no sub-forums whatsoever and no members can add replies or posts etc. Things might be edited after suggestions are made by members to the mods of course. To make the "message" as short and simple as possible yet direct and precise. Just everything in a nutshell...

Agree maybe they can add 'Blog Mod' for IPB and write there...

If they see fit, but as long as it doesn't get hectic, suffocating or too overwhelmed with information...
Maybe after the Shi'ism Summary, in the end, there can be a be a Shi'aah misconceptions list and short rebuttals, a "Shi'aah myths busted thingie", like:
-Misconception #1:
Shias have a different Quran.
Misconception #2:
Some Shia consider Ali as God.
Misconception #3:
Some Shia believe the Angel Gabriel made a mistake and prophethood was meant for Ali and not Muhammad (S.A.W.).
E.
T.
C.
Oh Also a paragraph of how Shi'aah "grade A'hadeeth, and how there are NO completely Saheehs that exist and why etc".

If guests (or members who are not signed in to ShiaChat) want to use the search to find something, they cannot. Why can't the search be readily available for everyone?

Hameedeh... Salam sis... Who do I or we have to talk to or PM to get what was suggested done, or started with? Thanks sis...
The administrator named inshaAllah has been watching this topic and responding off and on. If you scroll up to May 25, he posted there. Suggestions have to be discussed by the leadership team and I'm sure they work on the most important things first, so the lesser important things take longer. The mods and admins do not get paid to work at ShiaChat. They work here on their free time. elahy shukr

Thanks Hameedeh, i.a. all the mod-bloods and admins will be rewarded accordingly to their actions. So now it's just for us to sit back and relax... Anyway... Admins/Mods... I have a summary prepared, short one yet to the point. Might be missing some things still, but when or If you decide that what was mentioned should be included in Shiachat, I could send you it to go over swiftly. To edit the info however is seen fit.
Salam...
Bro, I hope you did not think I was referring to your suggestion as lesser important, among all the suggestions. I think your idea of writing all the basic info about Shia and pinning it up top on the home page is EXCELLENT.

Create an "Article" Tab at the top near Chat n Forum.
And get a few people to write up articles of FAQ's. And get some learned member(s) to write up articles of the misconceptions surround Shia islam.
I think on a daily basis we have new users joining the forum and wanting to learn more in depth about Shia Islam so it would be handy to have such a system in place.

'O day, arise! The atoms are dancing.
Thanks to Him the universe is dancing.
The souls are dancing, overcome with ecstasy.
I'll whisper in your ear where their dance is taking them...

Every single atom, happy or miserable,
Becomes enamoured of the sun, of which nothing can be said'

Interesting. But we need volunteers to take ownership of this task. It sounds simple but gets complicated (not to mention boring) once you start working on such projects.
If guests (or members who are not signed in to ShiaChat) want to use the search to find something, they cannot. Why can't the search be readily available for everyone?
Too many search queries affect site performance.
Also, why is the search the worst search i have ever used...i have to wait 30 seconds before I can search again...how terrible.
Restrictions are in place for above reason.
I suggest you search via google i-e type the following in google search bar: site:http://www.shiachat.com "keywords"
I would:
Create an "Article" Tab at the top near Chat n Forum.
And get a few people to write up articles of FAQ's. And get some learned member(s) to write up articles of the misconceptions surround Shia islam.

Something similar (Having a Rules tab) was suggested by a member but I couldn't find such an option in system settings.
A tighter grip on non Muslims posting in topics that are not for non muslim opinion.

That would be very helpful. I didn't even know about the notifications until I looked at my profile and had a bunch of posts on my feed. I then did some searching around and found out how to turn it on.

Yet kind of necessary and beneficial...
I could send a quick summary of the basics if you want... When you've got some free time, you can go through it, I don't thing it would take more than 5 - 10 min to go through...
Anyway let me know if anything... Thanks...

To improve shiachat i would : add a dislike button and dont limit the number of dislikes so I wouldnt end up like Goku begging for more "likes" because he ran out of his quota at the first day of the month .....
I would clock my dislike quota in the first hour of the month
salaam
