Salamon alaykom, can you please tell us from which source did you use the name Musa al-musawi and Ayatollah al burqai as sunni converts please, because it is haram to mention names of families and people without full knowledge. (after all - Ayatollah Imam Al Khomaini Al Mosawi was a famous Respectable Shia 'Alim)

This questions really goes back to our Sunni brother on this forum. They listed these names. I just recompiled the list. So we can ask them this question. and also this is new thing for me that it is haram to mention names of families and people without full knowledge. i dont know what is the extent of that knowledge. please elaborate.

I think you confused Musa al-Musawi with Ayatollah Imam Al Khomaini Al Mosawi - These are two different personalities.

My brother, The mosawi family is a sayed family that decend from imam mosa al kazim (a.s) it is a very big family that exists in iran, iraq and lebanon. so there is probebly hundreds of mosa's from the mosawi family, do you know how many mosawi family branches? when you included that name you shouldve been more specific and the reason i am questioning you is because i am perfectly sure that an alim by the name of mosa al musawi does not exist, therefore i wanted you to explain. The least we did, we published the information which was given to us by our Sunni brothers.

I agree with you that this information could be wrong; but we can’t change it. And blame of providing wrong information goes to our Sunni brother not us, because we are not involved in its collection.

As for as mosawi family is concerned I myself belongs to Mosawi -  sayed family.  Being a member of Mosawi family I should be more worried about this problem but this false propaganda is not in our control; only we can do is to refute; and we did as Aliya said.

Isn’t is more disappointing, when they claim that there are more Shias converting to Sunni and when we ask us to provide the list; they cant do it. This thread is opened almost an year now. And the list of Sunni Ullima converted to Shia faith are much more in number.

There is no religion of islam without the name of Ali .  There is no namaz in islam without the Bismillah of which Ali is dot of.  There is no Allah (swt) without his Lion Ali .  There is no justice without the call on help of Imam Ali .

18-20% of Pakistanis are Shia. and this Figure show not even single BLUE DOT in Pakistan.

also if you divide the sunnis(Green) in Barelvi,Salafi,Deobandi, Ahlul Hadith, Qadyani .. etc etc and then into Hanafi,Hanbali,Maliki and Shaf'ai, then area occupied by shia(Blue) will be greater then all of it.

Inuit, I don't appreciate you putting up some of those names where as some didn't even convert to shiism.

Here is my previous post;

Most these people I don't know very much about, but let me talk about a few I do know.

Musa Al-Musawi did not become a sunni, he criticized shiism. If my memory serves me right, his books were refuted by Sharafudin Al-Musawi.

There is no record of Ahmad Kasravi becoming a sunni, the thing with him is that he was generally an irreligious person and very secularist..and since he was living in Iran it was obvious he would attack Shiism. Plus, Kasravi was not an aalim, he was a historian.

Ahmad Al-Katib has attacked Shiism and has many problems with certain beliefs, but he still claims to be a Jafari Shia - not Sunni.

Al-Burqai ... honestly I have asked around about him, including senior scholars and they just don't know him. According to one sheikh in quoom he was a low level hawza student who was sunni from before. But anyways, we can't speak of this character since there is barely anything on him ...

Can someone please provide some biographies of the listed scholars. I mean such things like who they studied under before they converted etc. Merely listing names is not valid proof.

Also although Shaykh Tijani was a sunni muslim before he became shia, he never was a sunni scholar nor does he claim to have been.
