Sakina’s Tears

Tears of sorrow
Fallen in vain
Untouched by happiness
Carried memories of pain

His hand gone now
Alone now it seems
With the darkness surrounding
Filled only by broken dreams

She walks her chosen path
Wind drawn in the sand
Grasping sorrows in silence
Instead of her love’s cold hand

Tears of pain
Quiet as rivers flow
Joy forgotten if ever found
For even death does not know

Of her head laid silently
Softly upon his chest
No sound comes from within
His lips does she press

With her reddened cheeks
By cowards slapped
Her glory unmatched
A fountain lain untapped

In sorrow no more
At rest she lies
Her father’s warm embrace
Has silenced her mournful cries

With him now she walks
In a bounty of untouched lands
Forgetting his life’s  blood
Seeping into the sands
Ronay wala hoon Shaheed-e-Kerbala key gham men main,

Kya durey maqsad na dengey Saqiye Kausar mujhey

Captures both sorrow and pain.
