(salam)
Thankyou for your time Sayyid Mahdi, I have thoroughly enjoyed and learnt much from your responses to questions to date, may Allah reward you InshaAllah.

My question regards the term sinless or one who has never comitted sin. Is this accomplishment only reserved for the Masoomeen? Can a person outside the Masoomeen (as) , such as Hazrat Abbas  (as) or Bibi Zainab (as) be regarded as never having committed a sin?

Can a momin who is obviously not of the Masoomeen possibly live a life without ever comitting a sin? Or is only possible for someone who dies 'sinless' to have been forgivven for sins comitted?

Thankyou

Syeda
The Messenger of Allah declared: "It seems the time approaches when I
shall be called away (by Allah) and I shall answer that call. I am
leaving for you two precious things and if you adhere both of them,
you will never go astray after me. They are the Book of Allah and my
progeny, that is my Ahlul-Bayt. The two shall never separate from each
other until they come to me by the Pool (of Paradise)."

(bismillah)
(salam)

We beseech Allah's (swt) all-encompassing mercy and forgiveness, and we invoke Him to make us amongst the sincere servants of Imam Al-Mahdi (as).

The fourteen infallible figures, who are the Prophet (pbuh), Fatimatul Zahra (as) and the twelve Imams (as), have achieved the highest level of perfection and infalliblity. However, this does not mean that other great individuals are not or cannot be infallible. The Ahlul Bayt (as) school of thought teaches that all of Allah's prophets are infallible without any doubt. The difference is that there are varying levels of infallibility, just as there are levels of sincerity. While the prophets sometimes may not heed the optional advice of Allah (swt), which is not mandatory (such as the action of Prophet Adam (as) eating from the tree), the fourteen infallibles obey Allah (swt) in every aspect. This is only one difference.

As for Abbas (as) and Assayeda Zaynab (as), our scholars have established that they never committed a single sin (that deserves punishment on the Day of Judgment) in their lives. Although we have no specific hadeeth that states they are "infallible" using the word "Ma'soom," our scholars conclude from the different Ziyaras (visitations) that they are infallible, but at a lower degree. These visitations speak so highly of both of them to the extent that they indicate they are infallible.

It is absolutely possible for a believer to live his/her entire life without sinning, but no one will ever reach the status of the fourteen infallibles (as). Their infallibility represents the epitome of perfection and obedience.

Wassalam.
