Whatever your opinion on the current state of affairs in Iran and the government, I think everyone will agree that the revolution was a momentous time and a source of pride for all the Shia.

You will read many traditions about the Ziyara to the shrine of Al-Hussain (S) and come to know how a great thing it is to commit yourself in his service. I go in search of this very thing, to stand at the door of the 'Great Sacrifice' and offer my respects. The tears that flow from my eyes in these days will avail me on the day rivers will be cried by the people. I come to the Imam (S) in humbleness asking him to intercede for me, when "every soul shall know what it has done". It is then, as they drag the sinner to the depths of the Fire, he will say: "not this one, he cried for me on the day of Ashura".

What great pictures, mashallah...
For me especially...The revolution was big thing even in my life, it was my first inspiration towards Islam, and it made me feel, i want to belong there and mashallah..subhan Allah...now i am a muslimah, by seeing ayatollah Khumayni  qas and studying his great personality and hearing and learning about the Islamic Revolution. everything started when i met this historical event.

So alhamdulillah wa shukr...

Allahu akbar!
May Allah guard our revolution, may Allah protect Iran, and all shias! ameen ya Rabb!

O ye who believe! Let not a folk deride a folk who may be better than they (are), not let women (deride) women who may be better than they are; neither defame one another, nor insult one another by nicknames. Bad is the name of lewdness after faith. And whoso turneth not in repentance, such are evil-doers.
O ye who believe! Shun much suspicion; for lo! some suspicion is a crime. And spy not, neither backbite one another. Would one of you love to eat the flesh of his dead brother? Ye abhor that (so abhor the other)! And keep your duty (to Allah). Lo! Allah is Relenting, Merciful.

It certainly would have been a source of pride if it would have IMRPOVED the situation in Iran rather than worsening it.

Iran went from one dictatorship to another.

Sad--that's all I can say, and so many uninformed people who have never been to Iran or know the situation thinking it's some perfect heaven.

Man, this is DISGUSTING

Hopefully, our gov't will change for the better.
It seems like alomst ALL of you ...nevermind, what's the use in arguing w/ppl
that ignore what's right.

btw, is it Islamic to display a pic that has guns pointing to the statue?
hmmm, didn't think so.

The fact that Muslims are divided can't be adduced as evidence to discredit the truth of Islam. The reason why Muslims are divided into sects, like anyone else, is due to human failings and weaknesses. Allah says, "Humankind has been created weak!" (An-Nisa 28)

Hello Paria,

Listen my shahullahi co-existent, if you find this "disgusting" then get out of here. No one is asking you to stay here, in fact no one wants you here. Go to some shah worshipping site where you would be more welcomed.

Good bye

The Ummayads lasted 90 years, lets see if our own Islamic state can over last them.  :D We've got another 65 years of oppresion left.

Well even I have to agree the revolution was better than the shah system  :!!!:

(salam)
present day politics aside, the Islamic revolution touched and changed the lives of muslims worldwide without a doubt. I Know it effected me greatly, even though i was really young, But it made me proud to be a muslim and really reinforced the importance of wearing Hijjab aswell as giving me the strength to stand up for my Islamic rights.
For many muslims 'sitting on the fence' it prompted us to re-evaluate our role in this world.

those are my thoughts,

Syeda
The Messenger of Allah declared: "It seems the time approaches when I
shall be called away (by Allah) and I shall answer that call. I am
leaving for you two precious things and if you adhere both of them,
you will never go astray after me. They are the Book of Allah and my
progeny, that is my Ahlul-Bayt. The two shall never separate from each
other until they come to me by the Pool (of Paradise)."
