Well, it has to do with the guidance and justice system of Allah. If we (MANKIND) were made for a purpose and to search for the truth and try and reach perfection, but for how long? From the beginning, "man was at lost", and still is. Injustice and tyrants has been rampant since day one, there is a struggle for truth and justice. If God is all justice and all merciful, does he not have a plan? Will it always be like this? Wouldnt it go against the notion of God? For those who believe in 12 imams and prophets, if there is never peace and salvation, what was all these prophets and imams and books for? Man never reached a conclusion. This is where I believe imam mahdi comes, with Jesus A.S. He is the completion, ie final guidance, the perfect plan of Allah. Truly, after all this time, right before judgement day, everything will be clear. Most importantly, peace and justice, finally, will fill the earth.

Simpler, when did Mankind not need guidance? Imam Mahdi is the physical entity of guidance from Allah.

Just for your info. Imam Mahdi wont just kill anyone who rejects the truth. Those who reject islam still will be judged based on their own religious laws. But those who reject Islam and are injust and evil, will be killed.

The link you posted on another thread says otherwise.

Quote

The Mahdi will offer the religion of Islam to the Jews and the Christians; if they accept it they will be spared, otherwise they will be killed. Thus, for example, the following tradition in which Ibn Bukayr asks Imam Rida the interpretation of the verse: "To Him submits everything that is in the heavens and the earth, in obedience and in aversion." The Imam relates:

The particular verse is revealed in reference to the Qa'im. When he appears he will offer the religion of Islam to the Jews, Christians, Sabians, and the disbelievers in the east and the west. Any one who willingly accepts Islam will be asked to pray, give alms, and perform all the obligatory acts; and any one who refuses to do so will be killed. This will continue until there remains none but a believer in and worshipper of One God everywhere on the earth.

If you dont mind can you answer these questions please. Okay so lets say Imam Mahdi doesnt exist, can you explain to me how the system of Allah would work without someone who will eventually bring justice on earth? For me, there must be an existing Mahdi, I cant understand the logic behind him not being there. We as a human race need that final guidance. For how long will there be injustice on earth? Till after the day of judgement? What kind of merciful God would do such a thing?

These are questions you have to ask for yourself, they're not for me to answer.

I'm asking how exactly the Mehdi will implement guidance to reform the world and what needs to change in the world. I'm receiving no response. How do you expect me to believe?

Well, it was the same thing during the prophets time. Those who reject islam and still follow their own religions must still obey the laws set by the worlds government system ie Islam. Meaning they are free to follow their religions but they must obey all laws and there is justice set for those who oppose. How you said it was like, he was going to come with a sword and wipe out mankind for no reason at all. From the source you posted is referring to those who willingly follow Islam must obey all commands.

For your second comment, I see now that you dont have knowledge, your attacking something you dont even know fully about. You deflected my questions, and asked me questions to which I already know why.

I see what you are saying now, yes.

Here is a question I have been wondering about.  I dont think ive ever asked this question before today.  This seems suitable for your response, pure ethics. I thought of it when you said

So, lets say I am a christian.  So, in my mind, Jesus existed and brought the true message of God.  However, corruption remained.  Why is it that, in his return, peace will be brought, rather than his initial appearance?

The same goes for the Mahdi, why are we waiting for the Mahdis return for justice, and why hadnt we recieved it during his original appearance, or even during the time of the prophet pbuh.

Which sort of parallels Rorshacs questions of, why would a divine being hide for the sake of not being harmed by corrupt people?
------------------------------------------------------------------------

It gives the appearance that there are fundamental concepts that we are missing. No doubt that Iam.  What those concepts may be, I do not know.  Maybe others know.

I want to say though, I do agree on your statement about, justice or a final guidance, needing to be brought by the Mahdi though.  That is really, it is a concept that essentially must be true of Islam. How exactly that is, I dont know, but I agree that, in Islam, it appears to be necessery.

I wonder what Sunnis believe.  Or how they believe guidance will be brought.  These are good questions.  I will google around.
