wow.......

Quote

Tehran, Iran (CNN) -- They may be a far cry from their Western counterparts fighting for the acceptance to breast-feed -- or go topless -- in public, but two girls clobbered a cleric recently in a small town in Iran when he admonished one of them to cover herself more completely.
The cleric said he asked "politely," but the girl's angry reaction and some pugilistic double-teaming with her friend landed the holy man in the hospital, according to an accountMonday in the semiofficial Mehr News Agency.
Hojatoleslam Ali Beheshti said he encountered the girls on his way to the mosque in the village of Shahmirzad for noon prayers in late August.
Women's bodies: The public perception of private parts
He told one of the girls to cover up, the report said.
"She responded by telling me to cover my eyes, which was very insulting to me," Beheshti said. So he asked her a second time to cover up and also to put a lid on what he felt was verbal abuse.
She hit the man of the cloth, and he hit the ground.
"I don't remember what happened after that," he said. "I just felt her kicks and heard her insults."
Beheshti, who emerged from the infirmary three days later, said he did not file a complaint against the girls.
But he doesn't mind the local prosecutor's investigation into the matter either "as long as the case helps the cause of Islamic hijab."
The girls may have put the "jab" into "hijab," but fighting with morality police or private individuals telling women to cover up is rare in small towns. It's more common in larger cities, where women are more likely to take a stand.
Opinion: My hijab is my hoodie

"There have also been cases of women clashing with the morality police"

lmao Calling the Basij the morality police? Someone is trying too hard.

"Iranian women can be subjected to harsh punishment for small infractions of the country's Islamic dress code."

LOL Instead of talking out of their asses, maybe they should go to Iran and see the majority of women are constantly making infractions, many not 'minor', against dress laws. These 'harsh punishments' they're referring to are also small fines lmao

The propaganda train against Iran is still steaming ahead.

What else do you expect from CNN ?
Hadith #32.

With my continuous chain of transmission reaching up to Muhammad ibn Ya'qub al-Kulaynl, from al-Husayn ibn Muhammad, from al-Mu'alla ibn Muhammad, from al-Hasan ibn 'All al-Washsha', from 'Abd Allah ibn Sinan, from Abu 'Abd Allah, may Peace be upon him, which he said:

"Among the things pertaining to the soundness of a Muslim's certitude [in faith] is that he would not please people while displeasing God, nor blame them for something that God has not given him. For, verily, [God's] rizq (provision, sustenance) is not brought about by anybody's greed, nor is it withheld by anyone's disapproval, and were anyone of you to flee from his rizq like he flees death, his rizq would overtake him in the way he is overtaken by death." Then he added, "Indeed Allah with His justice and fairness, has put joy and comfort in certainty (yaqin) and satisfaction (al- rida) and He has put sorrow and grief in doubt and dissatisfaction."

'clobbered' is a nice word, but hopefully this is just badly sourced nonsense.

Absolute propaganda.  I've heard that half the women in Iran dress as westerners and nothing happens.  The other half, have some decency.  Whether this is truth or not, I do not know.

Their action was wrong, but I appreciate their zeal.

They should use that anger in a more productive way.

He has the right to tell girls with no dignity to cover up, especially in an Islamic state such as Iran.

Its strange how you say he needs to get a life when he's only enjoining the good, but you remain speechless in regards to those cheap girls who walk around with their bodies on display.

I'd like to see what the reaction here would be if a cop told a nudist or shirtless woman to cover up only to be met with a shove that knocked him out.

You have a thing for women that beat up men, don't you?
And they serve beside Allah what can neither harm them nor profit them, and they say: These are our intercessors with Allah. Say: Do you (presume to) inform Allah of what He knows not in the heavens and the earth? Glory be to Him, and supremely exalted is He above what they set up (with Him). [Qur'an 10:18, Shakir translation]

Now, surely, sincere obedience is due to Allah (alone) and (as for) those who take guardians besides Him, (saying), We do not serve them save that they may make us nearer to Allah, surely Allah will judge between them in that in which they differ; surely Allah does not guide him aright who is a liar, ungrateful. [Qur'an 39:3, Shakir translation]

Usually on Shiachat if someone makes a comment such as this one about another poster's family, the latter files a complaint and asks for the post to be pulled.
