AOA, I am quite new to shiachat and i look at the profile of lots of people and everyone seems to have loads of friends, how do I add friends on SC? i looked at the help section and apparently there is suppose to be an 'add to friend' option but i don't see anything like that, and i don't even know if other people can send me friend requests or not? :s can anybody help me solve this issue please

It's a useless feature I think well get Ito the people profile you will see the option there

Well, when i click at someones profile u will see the request botton immediately. But i dont think u will see it yet because u r not an advanced member. U have to react 50 posts

It's possible for advanced members to add you, I added you I guess like Noura said, when you reach 50 posts you will be able to add friends as well. It's not really something you'll use anyway, but it might be easier if you want to pm someone, so you won't have to search for them but instead just go to your friends list.

Go to "My Settings" then "Profile Settings"
Scroll down and you will see the option: "Allow me to approve members before they're added as a friend"
See if checked or not..

i dont have this option, in my settings it only says

•   Allow members to leave comments on my profile
  
•   Allow me to approve comments before they are displayed on my profile
  
•   Show last 5 visitors on my profile
