Assalaamu alaykum all,

I'm hoping someone would be able to point me in the right direction. A girl I know is interested in becoming Muslim. However initially she didn't want to choose a school of thought and was still in the 'thinking about it' stage. She has since been sort of scared off by the recent protests in our city re the youtube movie as the protests got very violent and ugly on behalf of some 'brothers' (Wahhabi really).

I was thinking that to combat this, it seems time to re-introduce her to Islam through our own resources (Shi'a) as the only Muslim friend she has did not do this as they didn't know how to go about it and asked me to talk to her. If I do it that way, I'm hoping that she can see that what she saw on TV is not Islam and she can see the beauty of Ahlul Bayt, etc.

My main issues are that a) her English really isn't that good so she wants resources in Chinese. And B) I've never done this before so what sort of things should I look for? I have books but no idea if they're suitable for possible reverts as before I reverted, I mostly spoke to people and attended lectures so didn't really read introductory books.

Does anyone know how to find Chinese resources? I've looked online but haven't seen anything.

Many thanks in advance.

I can't help you with the Chinese resources, but I would suggest that you explain that Osama bin Laden, Saddam Hussein, these murderers, as well as nearly all of the "Islamic extremist terrorists" are Sunnis.  That might help calm her fears about "Islam".

I would say, refer the Quran as much as possible for now. once she starts to understand the true beauty of Islam through the quran then start mentioning Hadith.I am sure a chinese translation of the Quran won't be hard to find. :S
i hope you succeed :) best of luck :)

Wa alikum alsalam,

I tried to find some sites in Chinese and I found some on this link:

I hope this helps.

Thank you Zahra! I just checked a few sites from there and they look good. I can't read Chinese but the English versions look great so hopefully the translations are good for her inshaAllah. THank you for your tips everyone!
