Pray for those 258 people and counting for dying such a horrible death today in Karachi
All of those were trapped in the merciless fire, and probably waited patiently just to be choked or burnt alive.

Only them and Allah knows how chaotic and painful the scene must had been when all of them were dying such an agonizing death

May Allah elevate their status in Jannah!

Inna Lil Laha Wa Inna Ealhi Rajioun

Hundreds of families have lost not only their loved ones, but the bread winners as well. May Allah help them and give them patience.

The absence of meaningful safety regulations leads to these kinds of accidents. The same day in Lahore a fire erupted in a shoe factory and killed around 25 or so people including the owner and his son.

That gives me an idea. Maybe we should make it compulsory for the owner to have his office alongside the workers in every factory. I'm sure that will spur them to be more careful about fire risks.

News about threats of extortionist are surfacing infact the factory workers have confirmed that the owner fled the country 15 days ago because of these threats. So I don't think one can rule out the criminal element.

Regardless, inquiry should to be ordered against CM Sindh for his role in this tragedy.

Quote

KARACHI: Ameer Nawab, who has just resigned from his post as Sindh labour minister, has said that Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah had stopped him from taking action against factories violating labour rules.

This point was corroborated by Sharafat Ali of the Pakistan Institute of Labour Education and Research, an organisation that works for labour rights. He alleged on Wednesday that the CM had verbally issued directives to government officials to stop the inspections of factories in Sindh.

The incompetence of PPP knows no bounds.

The Lahore factory owner died along with his son in the fire.

So true, and so painfully sad for the people who have no choice but to go to work there.

Because you don't want burglars breaking into your factory and making out with valuable wares and equipment.

It's not Denmark we are talking about are we.

Well in Pakistan there is no concept of "Occupational Health & Safety". We do not have degrees or courses related to this particular discipline. Human life is not considered an asset here. I think human life is a precious commodity which needs to be valued. Some very basic "Personal Protective Equipment (PPE's)" are not provided to the labor here. My heart griefs for the people who died in this incident. May Allah(SWT) give them peace in the afterlife.
