Salaam,

Can someone help me with the meanings of these Arabic words:

1. Erjaf (or Erjaaf)

2. Estishaab

Somebody told me erjaaf means stimulating, (or even risky) and estishaab means to ignore/overlook?

The root meaning of "ÃÑÌÝ æÑÌÝ" is disturbance. However, the laymen mostly use it to mean: rumored (ÃÑÌÝ ÇáÞæã). But it does have other meanings which are derived from "disturbance".

As for the other word, I can not read your transliteration. If you can write it in Arabic, I will be able to help.

as for (Erjaf) ÅÑÌÇÝ means that something make people shaking like when we say his appearance make them shake (hodhorah Arjafhom)
but it depend on the statement,if you have the full satement post it and I may help you.
for the other word (ÅÓÊÔÚÇÈ) going further in the subject "Im not 100% sure" if you make it in a sentence it would be easier to help.

Thank you. I don't have the Arabic word with me, but Inshallah I'll try to post a relevant sentence.

I'll try to post a relevant sentence. You may then be able to figure out the meaning in that context.

I don't have the exact sentence but the gist of it can be summed up like this: 2+2=4 and if anyone were to prove otherwise, it will be erjaaf.

Also, about estishaab, the closest I could get is this sentence:
When speaking about taharah and najasah, if something is tahir and we don't know if it became najis, scholars say: Make estishaab and consider it tahir.

Can you please help me with the meanings both - the dictionary meaning and in the context?

I'm not very sure about the word. Is the actual word istehaab (like you posted) in the sentence I provided earlier? Do scholars say: Make istehaab and consider a thing tahir?
