How old was your Dad's cousin's sister?  I have heard the age of consent is nine in Iran.
Not sure.  Given my dad's age while he was in Iran, and the age difference between him and his cousins, I'd say she was probably in her early 20's.  Which, given that is was somewhere between 25-30 years ago is pretty old for a woman to be unmarried.  But she was more honorable than to fall for it.

I dont think that the age of consent in Iran is 9!!!! Even before the revolution, at least in big cities like Tehran, those who were below 18 were not allowed to get married formally.Actually they could marry because it just needed a khutbah, but no marriage certificate would be issued for them as long as either wife or the husband was below 18. It means that marriage of people below the age of 18, was not recognized.

And now, the average age at marriage is:

26-27 for men; and

22-23 for women.

Okay, I admit I could be wrong.  But I did read that in a post on this site.  It had something to do with an Iranian diplomat in Brazil accused of molesting underage girls.

Israelis didn't qualify for those Olympic sports; and Iran shouldn't recognize a country made from Apartheid and land theft.

And according to this Rabbi, the sexual molestation of little boys in Israel is a part of religious practice:

Well, I guess if it is on the Internet or Youtube, it must be true.  You have me convinced. LOL!

But I call out stuff as I see it.  Like the rampant prostitution in Iran uses muta as a cover (or sometimes not even muta, just flat out prostituion), as evidenced by a huge spike in HIV+ rates.  Or Irani maulanas that offer to help girls find husbands, and then say "first I'd like  to do muta."  Or like sick 40 year old men marrying 9 year old girls.

Prostitutes(male or female) exist everywhere.

HIV rate is relatively low in Iran. According to the statistics released last year: 22,250 people have HIV (92% are men and the rest are women). It means that about 0.03% of Iranians have HIV.
Of this, 69.8% got HIV through injection methods.

As I have already said, marriage at age 9 is so rare. Maybe it happens in some illiterate families who live in remote villages. And it is illegal as I said in my previous post.

Maulana is a title for sunni scholars.

You shouldn't bother wasting your time proving some ignorant few on the boards.

If they think there's rampant prostitution they're clueless.

And I do agree with you about the child marriages.

Well, it appears you live in Iran, so I'll defer to your judgement on that.  If you can google and see a video called "prostitution behind the veil," just watch that and let me know what you think, if you don't mind.

I think the marrying young girls thing is more an Arab problem than an Irani problem.  I know in some south Asian countries they've started making laws against it because poor parents were basically selling their daughters to rich arabs.

Can't be only for Sunnis.  I just checked my masjid's website, and it says "Moulana."
