Are you serious? I think that's absurd thing to say, period. Any woman the prophet did NIKAH with becomes Haram on the ummah whether in his life time or after him and that includes mutah....  unless of course in your opinion mutah is not nikah, the rulling has to be same. you're not making sense, brother.

I don't think you can ever prove this.

Ismahaan---have you ever read any mention, by name or just a passing reference about any of His (pbuh) Muttaa wives ? ; because I have not yet, but apart from Message by Jafar Subhani I have not read any other biography of Prophet by any other Shia Scholars or historians--( and if it was mentioned in that book and I could not understood it than I am a hopeless seeker )

Slm sister, I have not come across any thing that mentions the imams or the prophet doing mutah. If there are any books or references that does, it has to be a total fabrication cos the prophets and the imams can't do mutah. its just absurd to claim such a thing. I wouldn't advice you to research on this, its a waste of time. I suggest to read something else that's useful instead.

No, it's not that I want to know about it particularly; it's just as my knowledge about many things is pretty shallow and shaky, so I shy away from making any decisive or resolute sort of comment--( and that makes me appear like a real dim-wit ).

Therefore, I asked you that maybe you have read any such thing.

Its okay to ask. and don't worry sistah, I think you come across very smart. you'll develop your knowledge gradually, InshaAllah... I think we're all on the same boat. No one here claims to know everything, so relax and if you have any questions dont shy to ask. first step towards knowledge as they say is asking questions, so always ask.

Have you ever thought about a couple who cant have kids.....Mutah will make it halal to have children wih someone else....back in the day things were seemed acceptable then todays time. Just because it is allowed doesnt mean you have to do it. Just leave it as it is. Also if someone abbuses a lawful act God has provided dont judge Allah, the man is the one who should be blamed. I know this is sisters only, im sorry.

I apologize to any of the sisters whom feel offended by my opinion, but to the original question: it would depend on the circumstances around which the mutah is proposed.

I don't see mutah as being a bad and degrading concept as long as it is performed for the right reasons. My fiance and I are not yet permanently married because of personal circumstances. However, in order to keep our interaction halal, we have a mutah. It's not at all about sexual contact. It's about being able to speak and interact with him on a more intimate level, without committing sin. Our mutah is exclusive and we're committed only to each other till we have our nikkah. Is that really bad or degrading?

I think sisters, sometimes, jump to conclusions without fully understanding the situation. Yes, there are men out there who abusive the concept and exploit women. They'll have Allah (SWT) to answer to for their abuse of a halal notion. Don't consider mutahs haram because of the behaviour of some men. If used correctly, they allow a man and woman to have a halal relationship. I speak from my own personal experience.

Time to eat my words---; I have read and re-read all sources, which I could have found (internet ) and no, I could not fine a single reference where it was said that Mariah the Copt or even Rihanna , the other concubine of Holy Prophet (pbuh) married some one after He (pbuh) passed away. Mariah lived 5 years after Prophet passed away and about Rihanna of Bani Nadur there was not much information that where did she go or do.But it seems clear that neither of them re-married.

So it was a huge and gross mistake and misunderstanding on my part and I am posting it to clarify the ambiguity, which could arise if any one reads that argument.

I apologize for my carelessness.....

Ismahaan, that^^ validates your point about the probability of Holy Prophet (pbuh) doing a Mutah; if His (pbuh) concubines did not re-marry than how could His (pbuh) wives.
