They asked me who You were and I said
He who does not forgive, but loves
Endlessly.
I am not a sinner
But a hazel-eyed Bedouin
with a face uncovered
Shamelessly.
I am not a sinner
But a drunken wretch
strolling intoxicated amongst the righteous who condemn me for worshipping
Undesirably.
Enough of this knowledge they tell me to seek
measured out by hairs untouched
Does bowing my head not lead to
Idolatry?
Tell them,
that I am not a sinner and it is You that has blinded me
from a heart undecided and torn
unforgivingly
that this pierce of art is but Your instrument to be played to those
reproving me
That I am an ambler on this sordid path who has found knowledge in
anonymity
and that
I am not a sinner.
