So every year when I start fasting, I get headaches every day for the first one or two weeks of Ramadan.

When shahr ramadhan is approaching, it might be helpful to train the body and ease it into fasting to avoid the initial headache. A good tactic is, for the few days prior to starting, fast one day until around 11am. Then the next day till around 2pm. Then the next till 4pm. Found this to be very helpful. And yeh, the other two main causes are caffeine withdrawals (so just have the coffee during the time when you're not fasting) and dehydration. Drinking water won't make much of a difference, especially for those in the cooler whether, it's best to have something that'll absorb the liquid and release it slowly over the day, so as members have said, oats. Chick-peas like in hummos, or yoghurt with bread are another good ones. Be careful for ibuprofen, like in Advil, as it's an NSAID (as wayfarer mentioned) and is quite harsh on your stomach lining and digestive tracts.

Migraine is very common nowadays. Have you ever tried face steaming?

I don't think it will work.

I have much larger problems. I've seen a neurologist about it and he ordered an MRI. They found some lesions on my brain that resemble MS, so they did further testing and concluded it is not MS. I asked for an explanation about the lesions and he didn't give me a good answer....too proud to say I don't know. I will be looking for a second opinion soon.

O my word, inshAllah its nothing to be worried about sis. On the surface it sounds alarming but it could be totally benign and just 'one of those things'. Regarding the migrain, ive heard that botox on the forehead/scalp has been sucessfully used as a treatment for it. My dad used to get terrible migrains, they'd make him vomit and intolerant to light. There was nothing for it but to lay down in a darkened room untill it left. Im pretty sure that was down to stress. Maybe if you make de-stressing a top priority they will lessen. More and more research is being done on the effects of meditation on stress levels, as well as other things like depression and improvement of imune function.

It's not uncommon for migraine sufferers to have abnormal areas or lesions on the brain.

I would still like a second opinion though.
