I wasn't very impressed with the academic they brought on. A much more interesting discussion could have been had on the topic than that.
And they serve beside Allah what can neither harm them nor profit them, and they say: These are our intercessors with Allah. Say: Do you (presume to) inform Allah of what He knows not in the heavens and the earth? Glory be to Him, and supremely exalted is He above what they set up (with Him). [Qur'an 10:18, Shakir translation]

Now, surely, sincere obedience is due to Allah (alone) and (as for) those who take guardians besides Him, (saying), We do not serve them save that they may make us nearer to Allah, surely Allah will judge between them in that in which they differ; surely Allah does not guide him aright who is a liar, ungrateful. [Qur'an 39:3, Shakir translation]

Salams,
i wasn't very impressed either... couldn't even listen to all of it when i heard what this person was sayinlg. Proves anyone can call themselves knowledgeable or a scholar but doesn't make them in accordance with Ahlu lBayta.s.
The Ahlu Bayt a.s. has interpreted the Qur'an by Allalh's command and there are tons of hadidth that tell us that they are the only ones to interpret the Qur'an. If anyone wants the hadith, just let me know and i'll take the time to send them.
Then our only job is to listen to what the Ahlul Bayt a.s. has told us about the meaning of Qur'an and put it into practice the best way we know how.
it's so simple but people can blab on and on and on and say anything true or untrue but only Haqq is Haqq

They also told us to judge hadiths by comparing them to the Qur'an, which would be absurd if we couldn't understand anything from the Qur'an ourselves.
