I recently watched a lovely movie based on a true life event. This movie is about a whale family who were stuck under ice in Alaska. "incidentally", a wonderful photographer/reporter took pictures of the whale family coming up to a hole in the ice to breathe. This motivated a passionate lady, who loves animals, to try to save this whale family. She and other women eventually motivated the men to act in order to do what is possible to save them! This even included the USA asking the USSR for help!!! (which was a big deal, because the USA is not fond of asking an "enemy" for help!) This was during President Reagan's time.
As I was watching this, it showed me how influential knowledgeable women can be. To some people, a whale family means nothing. Because I love animals, the act of women and men (many influenced by the women in their lives), to save this family of whales greatly encourages me! Sadly, the whale baby died.
Below is a short list of some of the women whose desire to help these whales brought both men and women together to get it done!
1. Cindy Lowry - a passionate lady who strives to help the environment.
2. Bonnie Mersinger - White House executive assistant
3. the wife of a powerful, rich man who environmentalists don't tend to like
These ladies remind me a bit of women like Abigail, a wise lady who eventually became one of King David's wives.
It is cool to me how women, when they get together, can make a passionate, nonviolent, positive difference in the lives of other creatures, as well as for humans!
I personally believe that God gave these women incentive and used them to help some creatures of His (whales are His creation too!) who needed rescue. There are women all over the world who positively make a difference, through their influence and example, in the lives of other people, as well as helping care for other creatures in God's amazing Creation!
Other women who I greatly admire who help marine animals are the many female vets/marine biologists who strive to help other creatures along with male vets/marine biologists!
Who are some women that you admire, who have influenced both men and women in a positive way? What do you think about the power God gave to women to positively influence others?
Thanks!
Peace and God bless
