Hey! What's this book about?

I wondered if you'd notice lol

It's a beautifully written piece of fiction; a novel by one of the most recognisable names in contemporary Pakistani literature.

Yes, there are many gypsy communities in Pakistan spread across the edges of every major town. Our household employs a couple of them although people are generally vary of letting them into their houses because, as it's in the rest of the world, they account for a big percentage of crime but it's mostly petty theft, nothing serious.

Anyway the novel is about the Gypsies of Europe. It's set in England and Switzerland. The protagonist is a Pakistani student in England who comes in contact with a gypsy and through her he is led into their world. It's a fascinating portrait of the lives of gypsies there. It was first published in 1987 and partially based on the author's interaction with European gypsies.

Please no mentioning of Harry Potter in this thread.
Regards
Harry Potter...oops :P

Game of Thrones series are quite good, seems better than the Hunger Games trilogy that I've just finished
I also enjoy reading Agatha Christie, especially the ones which have Hercule Poirot

^^ Game of Thrones is epic
Ya Ali tera haseen naam bhala lagta hai
Teri nisbat say ye Islam bhala lagta hai
Log kehtay hain teray ishq mein kafir mujh ko
Meray dil ko ye ilzam bhala lagta hai

My favorite has to be William Shakespeare's works. This guy was either a big genius or someone extraordinary who knew so much about human beings and society.

"I wanted a high position in life, I found it in modesty. I wanted leadership, I found it in giving advice. I wanted dignity, I found it in honesty. I wanted greatness, I found it in poverty. I wanted lineage, I found it in virtue. I wanted majesty, I found it in contentment. I looked for peace and found it in asceticism." - Uwais al Qarni

I see no mention of Dan Brown. Interesting.

Haven't read much fiction though I find his work very entertaining.

Also "A case of Exploding Mangoes" by Mohammad Hanif. Full of wit and laced with anecdotes.

My copy of Little Women is pretty worn out in comparision to my other books considering I've read it so many times. -_-  Definitely one of my favourite novels.

'A Song of Ice and Fire' by George R. R. Martin

This series has sold more than 15 million copies, and still going strong!
