What Are You Giving Up During Ramadan?

I was curious as to what are you giving up during Ramadan? What are your goals?
Are you going to try to quit smoking? Give up the internet for the whole month? Read the whole Quran? What are some other things that you are all planning?
Regards,
UmmAhmad

And what are you going to give up? Or to try to at least, let's see nao...
I am breastfeeding, so insha'Allah I will be able to fast- last Ramadan, because I was pregnant, I had a lot of fainting spells when I tried to fast. I want to try to read the whole Quran, and leave the internet- which is difficult as it is the only source of communication I have with my family. I am hoping to be able to gain more knowledge of Islam- or refresh what little I know. To pray every prayer on time, not 5 or 10 minutes after the athan, to break my fast as the Prophet

Im gonna try and totally cut out refined sugar =\ im always trying to do this infact, but i have a terribly sweet tooth. I can go so long with fruit and very modest treats, but then i will get 3-5 days where i just go crazy with cake and biscuits and ice cream >.< i wouldnt mind a splurge so much now and again but i feel so krap 2 days in: tired, grotty, irritable, but my body starts craving the new sugar levels and it turns inro vicious circle...anyway, writing way more than i need to here.

Don't buy products with refined sugar, then by the time you can actually eat some you probably won't be able to go out and buy anything, just make sure you don't go buying any in the day time
By the way I don't know if this would actually work, but I'm pretty sure it will since if it isn't there for you to eat then you will easily be able to avoid it

Some people may spend way too much time on the internet and feel the only way to not go on it for so long is to quit it. Others may spend little time and do nothing/hardly anything beneficial so they feel it's better to just quit (and maybe there are other reasons too)
[I don't think anyone in this thread mentioned they want to quit the internet]
Edit - I just saw someone said they did want to quit the internet in shahr ramadhaan

Are you sure you're in a good position to fast? Anyway, you know yourself more... Insha'Allah you and all of us will read the whole Qu'raan, but not just read it. Really "read" it.
As another brother pointed out? What good is it to "leave the internet", especially that you and your family communicate mostly through it. Isn't family talking and being closer a plus during fasting? Or well you can just do specifically that, no browsing, just skyping.
Good luck...

I would suggest the same thing as what Violently_Happy said, that is, if you are going to quit the internet then still use skype to keep relations with your family members throughout that month

inshAllah this Holy Month of Ramadan I would love to complete the Qur'an, attempt to eat little amounts of food where I am not stuffed after each iftar meal, and read as many Islamic books as possible.
I want to give up some bad habits of mine inshAllah

My family are christian, so sometimes they are a distraction or there is lots of drama. Someone was put in jail, someone got pregnant, someones mad at the other, etc. I do understand that it isn't practical for some, as it is for those who work or do studies, but this is just for myself personally.
