2: is this the only narration on the subject ?
3: is saduq the only scholar you can extract this from or is there a consensus ?
4: if this is the case can you show us a list of a few modern day scholars saying so ?

1.Yes equal is right translation.
2.No read the whole thread.
3.I quoted Sadooq because thread was demanding classical,secondly for some classical followers.
4.One modern scholar about whom i am sure about is Ayatollah Bashir Hussain Najafi,confirm from him,second one i am not sure but its said that Ayatollah Sadiq Shirazi is also included.Then there is one,Muhammad Hussain najafi,though i don't agree with most of his views but he is also the one,then other than marjas,Syed Hassan abtahi also disapproved of it.

yes mostly the word 'kufv' is used,like Imam Jaffer Sadiq(as) said to a man asking for Syeda's hand ''that your kufv is in your blood,your hasab,your family',check it out on 4th pg of this thread.So with different details almost the word remain the same.Like for Bibi Syeda(as) the same word was used by Her Father(saww).
