I read that it is allowed to combine salaah.  Is this true?  And how do you perform the seated salaah?

I heard that's true, but I never tried it before. I still pray all salat separately, I guess I feel more comfortable that way...

(salam)

It is more accurate to say, it is permissable to combine prayer times, so after you finish dhuhr, you can start your asr prayer. Or after you finish maghreb, you can start your isha prayer. Though it is still better to pray each prayer in its own time.

As for praying whilst sitting, you just put yourself in the sitting position (as you sit when you pray) facing the qibla, and pray as normal, for rukuh, you lean forward lightly, then the rest is the same as normal.

This seems relevant.

I believe also that you should not go directly from one prayer to the other, but say at least a short du'a or dhikr in between the two.
