It's about a week away lads.  You guys ready for some epic continental football?

England's got a tough group which includes France, Sweden and co-hosts Ukraine, so that should be interesting.

http://www.bbc.co.uk...groups-schedule

Who do you think is going to make it? I expect Holland to do well and proceed to the last 4.

As long as a Liverpool player holds the cup at the end, I'll be happy.
Hope England do well though.

Holland and Spain are ones to watch.

i ze support italy, i was pretty pissed in the world cup when they didnt make it through the group stage.
we reached the semi final i think it was in euro 2008 but lost to spain on penalties.

I think holland might win it though, would be good to see england in the latter stages of the competition.

Innnnnngerrrrrrrrrrrrrrlaaand!!!

lawl, nah I just like to see England progress beyond the group stages in the Euro or World Cup, but only just to see them lose at the QF's - usually on pens :shifty:

They are overrated, especially by our press - and we never hear the end of 1966 which is mightly irritating.

However, in all honesty, and as much as I'd like to see them progress then lose - say what you will of the team's overall lack of skill and class - no football tournament is the same without the presence of the England fans - they make any tournament with their larger lout-ish ways and boisterous football chants and to lesser prideful trait, hooliganism.  :shifty:

There are honestly no fans quite like the English.

Even the atmosphere here wont be the same when England exit a tournament early - the flags from the cars and pubs and houses gradually come down and everyone is back to their usual gloomy and characteristically unpatriotic selves.

I saw just a preview of it and from the little I saw, the racism was appalling!

Sol Campbell was right, they don't deserve to host such a prestigious event...

You should see the whole thing:
http://www.bbc.co.uk...adiums_of_Hate/

There is a clip at the end where some Indian fans who are supporting the home team get attacked by the home fans for not being white. It's shocking.

Spain to take the goods once again.

I am looking forward to their match with the Pasta boys in a weeks time, also I expect big things from the Portugal v. Germany match.

I hope England do not pass through the group stage. That would be priceless :D

Greeks, Georgians,  Belorussians, North Koreans, and some of these other nations play "bunker". They put AT LEAST 7-8 guys on their half of the field and suffocate and stagnate any flow of movement. It's really annoying and pesky. Once they grind down the oppositions wingers, midfielders, and forwards, they then proceed with their fresh legged offense and usually win games 1-0, 2-1 etc. They really wear and tear talented teams.

Anyways........as for predictions goes. I wouldn't be surprised if Spain lost to either the Netherlands or Germany for the obvious reasons. The latter teams are younger, fresher, and in their primes. While the Spanish on the other hand have already overachieved with back to back titles (Euro 08, WC 10). While a win here would cement them as the greatest NT of all time, IMHO, they don't have the material to get the win done.

There's no Puyol. Pique can't play without him. He's a type of center back that's contingent on another high level CB. That's one blow there already especially when a healthy Puyol use to eat up the best players of each team i.e. Ronaldo, Robben, Rooney etc. Another blow is Villa is gone and even if he were healthy he's not what he use to be. The third obviously being Xavi, Iniesta, etc. have dropped their levels a little bit. They're not as devastating as they once use to be. Still productive but not quite so.

lol Sergio Ramos will send chills down the spines of the NT players when they have to defend corners. Won't be fun.

Germany should take this if not they should be laughed at.

The best thing about Euros and World Cups isn't the football.
The best thing is Marcel Desailly's punditry.

Do you remember Adebayor as a pundit during the last world cup? Not only could you barely comprehend the guy as he talks like an MC - but his phone goes off twice, live on air

LOL
His French rapping is so funny.

But Desailly is the greatest - the way he doesn't realise how loud he is talking and his stance.

Czech Republic all the way ^.^. Although I doubt they can perform like they did in 2004 :(. Probably get knocked out after reaching quarter finals. Germany will probably win.

Traditionally, the Euros have provided a platform for some of European football's youngest and brightest stars to shine. Here, BBC Sport profiles eight players who could shake football's world in the coming months.
