mashallah i hope he receives whatever he asks for in his life now that hes found the right path!

And it was not [possible] for this Qur'an to be produced by other than God , but [it is] a confirmation of what was before it and a detailed explanation of the [former] Scripture, about which there is no doubt, from the Lord of the worlds.

Or do they say [about the Prophet], "He invented it?" Say, "Then bring forth a verse like it and call upon [for assistance] whomever you can besides God , if you should be truthful."

- Surat Yunus Ayat 37-38

Mashaallah indeed. I am currently on the "wrong" path...If I convert to Shia Islam, I will get whatever I ask for in my life?

What if I convert to Sunni Islam...what happens then?

Gee...that's just great...is it not?

Could you define the words idol, worship and idol worship for me?

You will dye your beard orange, wear your trousers too short and you will begin to think everything is shirk.

Gee...that's just great...is it not?

Definately good news - I'm proud of him

Could you define the words idol, worship and idol worship for me?

Worshipping statues etc

Clever, but that does not answer my question and you know in what context I posed that question. :)

What has he done and why has his "reversion" to Shia Islam made YOU proud? Do you know the guy personally or something?

I see what you did there. You just replaced idol with the word statue.

In the video the brother mentioned that his prayers weren't answered before and he suggested that maybe there was a hidden wisdom behind this as in maybe Allah (swt) never answered his prayers so that he would question his beliefs and find the right path

I think Abbas0 didn't mean that if you come to the right path you will get all your prayers answered, I think he meant that insha'Allah now that he found the right path his prayers will be answered (as before when he was on the wrong path they weren't)
------
Though of course everyone has their own path and maybe other people do get their prayers answered even if they are following the wrong path and their guidance may be through a different way

I think what Rasul meant by idols was a material effigy/effegies that is/are worshipped as god - but it would be best for him to answer since I'm only guessing what I think he meant

Ok, but

In your 2nd quote, are you not making the argument that getting one's prayers answered or not is no indication of the rightness/wrongness of the path? Does it not directly puncture the argument you make in your first quote?

If that is your definition, then Hindus are not idol worshippers. For e.g. in fact in today's news, in India, a few guys got together and stole some idols of some Gods from a temple. The worshippers who used to frequent that temple have not become atheists.

I don't believe getting your prayers answered or not would be an indication of the rightness/wrongness of the path - but the brother in the video maybe does.

I see - maybe the right definition would be one who believes that a material effigy/effegies is/are worthy of being worshipped

I haven't read the Islamic definition of what would constitute as a Idol Worshipper so my definition could be wrong or could have a bit missing from it.
