Could you please give me your opinion on buying an automobile? Here is a link with 41 different cars.

Do you recommend any of them? I cannot afford to buy a new one, maybe 2007-2009.

What are you thinking? Thanks in advance. :)

if you want reliability and want to save money, i'd go with Honda or Toyota. They last much longer with fewer repairs. maybe a civic?

Toyota or Honda, I would opt for a Civic. Very good car, fuel efficient, cheap maintenance, and good resale value.

My second choice would by the Toyota Corolla.

The Nissan Juke looks good, plus it has an all wheel drive which could help driving in the snow. I personally dislike small cars as they are not safe in case (God forbid) it gets involved in a collision because they are usually made of very light material which can be advantageous for giving more mileage.

Why 07-09? Why not 1998 or 1999? O_O

But yes a Honda or Toyota are best options.

Like a Honda Civic or Accord or a Toyota Carolla for example are very inexpensive and last a long time with little repairs. Even the repairs are very cheap!

I've got a 2001 Toyota Corolla and up to this day it rides like a new car. Toyota FTW!

I almost bought a Mitsubishi Lancer (CS3) but I opted not to since they work with a CVT transmission that require more frequent transmission fluid changes as opposed to a car with regular automatic transmission fluid (corolla). Failure to change the fluid on time could cause damage to the transmission. But don't get me wrong, these cars are great as long as you maintain them as you should.

Good luck in finding a good ride.

Edit: Also, the Toyota Yaris is a hell of a good car!

Whatever you do, DO NOT buy an American car, lol...

"Those who worship God for the hope of gaining, they are not real worshipers, they are merchants. Those who worship God out of fear (of punishment), they are slaves. And those who worship God to be grateful towards their creator, they are the free people, and their worship is a real one." - Imam Hussain ibn Ali (AS)

Generally speaking:

Honda/Toyota for reliability and low running costs (read: bland).

DON'T get an American car (unreliable and mostly awful drive unless you go for niche/specialist cars)

German for supreme driving experience (mostly) and very reliable although more to run

Get a Range Rover Sport Turbocharged 4.2 (petrol) if money not an issue and you wanna boss the road.....

ALI
Allah Almighty announced the Adhan ever since the dawn of Creation with the inclusion of the third Shahada.
Imam al Sadiq (as) said: “We the family of the Prophet were the first to have their names pronounced. When Allah created the Heaven and Earth he ordered a call to be made. It was announced 'I testify that there is no God but Allah three times, I testify that Mohammed is his messenger three times and I testify that Ali is the Commander of the Faithful three times.'”

If you have kids, Scion XB or Nissan Cube. More roomier yet smaller and easy on gas.

If you don't want to drive with kids and have money to spend with a worthwhile driving experience, go for Mini Cooper. Lat I test drove one, I loved the ride but was feeling cramped inside.

Any german car from the following list are excellent:

Small:
VW Polo

Medium sized:

1) VW Golf - If going for diesel (post 2007) the 2.0 TD engine is amazing and has decent power/torque. And all the petrol variations are good.
2) Audi A4 - Again same as above
3) Audi A3 - Smaller in size but as above

Family/spacious:

1) VW Passat - excellent cars and are solid, drive very very well and very comfortable
2) Audi A6 or A8 - again as above

German cars i.e. VW, Audi, Seat, Skoda are all manufactured by VW and have excellent reliability so a wide range of choice.

Japanese -

Can not go wrong with toyota, smaller i.e. corolla or family size a good choice is avensis.

Stay away from anything french (renault, peugeot etc), anything called 'Ford (Fix Or Replace Daily)
Sincerity makes the very least person to be of more value than the most talented hypocrite.

It depends on what qualities you are looking for in a vehicle, right? I assume you have a family, sister? Do you need an SUV/Van or would a compact car suffice? Also, thinking about fuel efficieny is important.

Go for a Subaru if you can. You might pay a little more at the pump, but they're excellent, solid cars (and I've had a Toyota before too, good brand but a lot of the price tag is because of the name). And having the AWD is a very nice thing to have. Personally I'm very partial to the Subaru Legacy GT..

Toyota camry or corolla. My second choice would be Honda but they are more pricier. Both cars are cheap to maintain and have excellent resale value.

The older the car, the more likely there are serious problems?

Those cars are too funny.

Thank you for explaining the CVT transmission. The Nissan VERSA that I was looking at online has CVT.

AR, that yellow car is a ray of sunshine. That could brighten my day!

Thank you all for your help. I will keep your tips in mind! It looks like most of you recommend Toyota, Honda and Nissan. In the past I have driven cars by relatives, Accord, Corolla, Camry, and Subaru Impreza, so I am familiar with those and like them. I used to drive a Civic for quite a while and another time we had a Golf, but we sold them when we needed money. InshaAllah, I will see what cars are available, and then a friend of our family has promised to inspect it, to make sure the car is good. :)

Regarding the cvt transmission, some cars have longer oil change intervals so don't rule them out. The lancer particularly has a short interval.

The best person to guide you in purchasing a car I think would be your LOCAL mechanic. He(or she lol) would know how certain cars would run in specific climates as well as availability of parts.

I told my dad I wanted a Ferrari and he said "no beta, it's pronounced Toyota".

Only joking, but seriously, get a Toyota. They're cheap and good quality.
