Disclaimer: Please check with your physician/dentist before trying this out. This practice may cause teeth cavities (http://www.livestron...ties-treatment/)

Bad morning breath?

First brush your teeth , then try 2 spoons of Yogurt with cultured live bacteria before you go to sleep. Do not brush your teeth after ingesting the yogurt.

It is my opinion that the bacteria present in yogurt do not produce the smelly sulfur compounds like the bacteria found in the mouth (as part of the natural flora). I believe that introducing yogurt bacteria and allowing them to multiply increases bacterial competition for nutrients. This might limit the growth of bacteria that produce the smelly compounds, thus reducing morning breath.

Always brush your teeth in the morning because excessive bacterial growth can cause a number of health issues.

Please share your experience if you have tried this. Again, this practice may cause cavities - So perhaps a honeymoon thing.

Dunno brah.

Are you suggesting this as a temporary solution or a nightly practise? Because consistently failing to brush your teeth at night can still pose the risk of plaque, tartar and enamel acidic erosion, even if you brush in the mornings.

You'd think so, but maybe not in OP's case?

Sorry , I forgot to mention that one has to brush their teeth and tongue BEFORE the yogurt , to eliminate food residue that might lead to Excessive bacterial growth.

Breakfast and brushing does not always eliminate bad breath because many people can not maintain good saliva levels throughout the day to help reduce bacteria.

This overnight solution is primarily to treat morning spousaphobia. Essentially what im sayin is since it is difficult to eliminate all food in mouth, allowing the non-smelly bacteria to grow instead may be beneficial.

Ok heres an article basically saying L. acidophilus (found in yogurt) contributes to cavities (Ironically it is a probiotic , which has many good benefits that its sold as a supplement as well)

http://www.livestron...ties-treatment/

I will link in original post, however searching more on google, there appears to be varying theories on what causes cavities and plaque build up.

Take equal quantity of Honey and Vinegar, mix both of these, and use as the best oral healthcare.

Just brush your tongue after you brush your teeth in the night... No dragon breath in the morning...

Brush tongue to remove bad breath, and watch your diet, drink enough water... No more problem...

Good advice. But if one is constantly having bad breath, he should dicuss possible digestive problems with his physician during his next check-up.

Get a good dentist. You can't use home made solution for periodontal diseases.

InshaAllaah this procedure will work in all the cases, just give it a try!

Moreover, bad breath is also due to these two reasons according to Ahadees:
1) Stomach disturbance.
2) Habit of telling lie.

Seriously, all you need to get rid of bad breath is to brush and floss BUT you have to drink lots of water.
I usually brush and floss 2 hours before I go to bed so if I get sleepy then I won't be too lazy to brush. Also, I drink lots of water before I sleep. You know, when I wake up in the morning, I just moisturize my mouth with my salaiva and I don't get morning breath, since I drink water right before I sleep. Same with eye bugers. If you wash your face, you won't get them!! Like I used to get them when I was 13 or so but then I started getting discoloration in some areas of my face ( my face is really white and some areas were kinda red) so I started using face washes. And In order to see results I had to use them wash my face with them before bed; so I did. And I noticed I didnt have a sticky face when I woke up :D

Try chewing a few leaves of sweet marjoram - you can grow it in a pot in your kitchen window. You'll never suffer from bad breath again.

Flossing is good. Sometimes small parts of food stay stuck after brushing, and then start to rot. This in turn can cause bad smell. Also, perhaps brushing your tongue might help too.

I don't know where I initially found this (perhaps on this same site) but here's how you can use the miswak:

Interesting. I never heard of that before. I will try it :)

Another thing I was going to suggest was parsely (which has a lot of chlorophyl) to eat at the end of the meal.

(salam)

Bedtime routine:
1. Brush your teeth.
2. Use mouthwash
3. Use dental floss
4. Use tongue scra-per
Avoid drinking coffe, smoking and eating foods with strong-eww-smelling ingredients such as garlic.
Use a breath freshening spray (increases saliva production). Avoid using breath freshening sprays that contains alcohol, it dries out the mucus membrane which leads to bad breath in the long run.

Good Taste: Top 5 Foods to Prevent Bad Breath
1. Chew on this. Move over parsley, there are some new halitosis-fighting herbs in town. “Coriander, spearmint, tarragon, eucalyptus, rosemary and cardamom are all good for fighting bad breath,” says Dr. Christine Gerbstadt, who has lectured on oral health. You can chew on fresh herbs or make tonics by steeping them in hot water (as a tea). These herbs make an excellent digestive as well—doubling the benefits of ending a meal this way.

2. Get some active culture. No, not Cirque du Soleil, but yogurt. A recent study found that a serving of yogurt each day reduces the level of odor-causing hydrogen sulfide in the mouth. Apparently it also cuts back on bacteria in the mouth—plaque and gum disease were reduced in the study’s yogurt eaters as well. Plus, the American Dietetic Association (ADA) recommends getting enough vitamin D from yogurt, cheese and milk if you’re worried about halitosis because this vitamin creates an inhospitable environment for bacteria growth. Be sure to get the kind of yogurt with active cultures—not overly processed or sugar-added varieties.

3. Crunchy types. Apples, carrots, celery—basically any fiber-rich fruit or vegetable is your friend when it comes to fighting halitosis. “Inside your mouth, plaque build-up causes odors,” explains Cynthia Sass, ADA spokeswoman and registered dietician. “Eating foods that increase saliva production keep the mouth moist—and rinsed out. Also, many carbs and proteins can get stuck in your teeth—even healthy foods like whole grain cereal or chicken breast.” So follow a meal with a Granny Smith (feel the saliva kick in at the mention of it?) to cleanse the mouth.

4. Masking techniques. Sugarless gum shouldn’t replace brushing your teeth after a meal, but in a pinch it can freshen breath (masking odors) and is another way to increase saliva production to rinse away plaque and bacteria. Mints can mask as well, but only briefly—and go for sugarless. Sugar creates plaque, and no one wants a mint that makes breath worse.

5. High C’s. Eating berries, citrus fruits, melons and other vitamin C-rich foods create an inhospitable environment for bacteria growth. A diet rich in vitamin C is also is important for preventing gum disease and gingivitis—both major causes of halitosis. Get your C in foods, not supplements, which can cause gastrointestinal upset in some, according to Sass, and exacerbate bad breath.

If you're isolating yourself from the society just because you don't want to bother people with your breath: Halitophobia

Acidity is one of the main and ignored cause of bad breath.

Always brush your teeth after (not before) meal and before sleeping + s[Edited Out]ping tongue.
Always use soft tooth brush.

Drink plenty of water specially before sleeping and in the morning. Good for lot of other things too.
