Listen go sit with him and see how he is nowadays, he's very old... It's normal. No disrespect meant. He's just not like before. No one's infallible except the Infallibles s. so what's the big deal?
By the way I follow Sayyed Sistani... In most jurisprudence and laws.

Very nice Post (: Kinda inspired me! I wanna meet him D:! My mom was in Diwaniyah when One of Sistanis clerics was killed outside his house,
May Allah shelter, extend his life, and keep him well in knowledge
May Allah shelter, extend his life, and keep him well in knowledge
He is the first one to believe in Islam; He is the most knowledgeable; He is the most correct one in his DEEN; He is the most certain; He is the most patient; He is the most forgiving and generous; He is the bravest in heart; He is the IMAM and the successor after me, He is Ali Ibn Abu Talib."
"O son of Adam, as long as you seek my forgiveness and atone for your sins, I will forgive you and would not care if your sins reached the Heavens in abundance.."
Certainly, no hope in Allah is pointless, and no guest to Allah (swt) will ever be kicked out (of His mercy).
Brothers and Sisters, Allah (swt) gave his slaves the chance of atonement and repentance so that they will have no excuses on the day of Judgment...the slave's honest repentance pleases Allah (swt)
"O my slaves who have sinned, do not give up on the mercy of Allah, for Allah forgives ALL sins" - Holy Quran

Here is another article to have an idea about how danger it is for Ay Sistani to go outside..
http://www.shafaqna....in-karbala.html
For his biography : http://sistani.org/index.php?p=192257
In the introduction of his book ("A code of practice for muslims in the west"), he put a short story of him when he took the plane in january 1995 and it's really interesting to see how he applied his fatwas:

From what i've heard during a speech, when a Maraji', get older, his brain increases day and day.
Instead of decreasing like a normal guy.
They have a better brain than us and they remember everything from their childhood.
Personally, if an ayatollah is loosing his mind or forgetting all his knowledge, i wouldn't follow him, because if you ask his a question now, he would give you a random answer!
There's no scientific proof of what i'm telling, as there are no scientific proof about invisibility, teleportation, read in people minds etc..
But we all know, some people have a Ism Al A'zam and can teleportate themselves, (know as Tayyul Ardh in arabic) or doing other miracle..
Ayatollah Bahjat was one of them..
So if you don't have any proof or you are not sure, you can't tell that.
