PESHAWAR, Pakistan -- Police say 14 people have been killed in northern Pakistan in attacks linked to tensions between Sunni and Shiite Muslims there.

Police officer Bisharat Ali says Tuesday's violence began when five people were killed in Gilgit town in clashes between police and Sunni Muslims protesting alleged attacks by Shiites.

He says suspected Sunni gunmen later stopped six buses near the town and killed nine Shiites on board.

Ali says a curfew has been imposed in the town and surrounding areas to restore order.
Sunni-Shiite violence has long been common in Pakistan, with minority Shiites bearing the brunt.

In February, gunmen killed 16 Shiite bus passengers in Gilgit, a remote and mountainous district, which in recent years has been largely peaceful.

The situation in Gilgit (PAKISTAN) is very critical. Some highlights, according to some resources:

* Communication has been cut off between Gilgit and rest of the world (telephone, media).
* Approximately 200 Shia Muslims were martyred in last 3 days
* Around 150 Shia Muslims' eyes are removed from their faces and their faces smashed with stones.
* Government has enforced a curfew in Shia areas. So the victims are under surveillance and the criminals are free.
* Ground and air transportation has been blocked between Gilgit and outside.
* Police is arresting innocent Shia leaders and workers in Gilgit. So the victims are being arrested and the criminals are free
* Due to strike, general public is short of food and water in their houses.
* Hurdles were created to stop Salaat-ul-Juma in Jamia Imamia Masjid.

Posted Image Pakistan Backed-US Interior Minister Demands Release of 35 killers of Shi'a Muslims

Interior Minister of Pakistan Rehman Malik has demanded release of terrorists belonging to Sipah-e-Sahaba and Lashkar-e-Jhangvi.

Posted Image(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Interior Minister of Pakistan Rehman Malik has demanded release of terrorists belonging to Sipah-e-Sahaba and Lashkar-e-Jhangvi.

According to sources, Interior Minister has contacted with the leadership of Shiite Muslims in Pakistan and demanded urgent release of 35 terrorists belonging to Sipah-e-Sahaba and Lashkar-e-Jhangvi, who are involved in target killing of hundreds of Shiite Muslims across Pakistan.

Top Shiite cleric Syed Sajid Ali Naqvi of Tehreek-e-Jafria has rejected all demands of Interior Ministry.

Few days ago Shiite Muslims captured 35 terrorists of banned Sipah-e-Sahaba and Lashkar-e-Jhangvi. After that Interior Minister Rehman Malik imposed Curfew in Gilgit Biltistan and started targeted search operation in Shia population to recover these terrorists.

The main reason of imposing curfew in Gilgit Biltistan is only to pressurize the leadership in order to fulfill the demands.

It is also reported that near about 200 Shiite Muslims have been martyred in Gilgit Biltistan.

In this connection to release the terrorists of banned outfit the genocide of Muslims in Pakistan has also been increased across Pakistan to develop the pressure on Shia leadership. Rehman Malik is a blackmailer and afraid of terrorists who is destabilizing the peace of Pakistan only for sake of terrorists and protecting its position.

It must be noted that this year Rehman Malik also thanked terrorists for not attacking during Muaharram, so it is obvious that Malik is key player of terrorists who can dance on the finger tips of terrorists.

Pakistan:

Sipah Sahaba terrorists, killers of Shias in Pakistan since 1980 have arrived in large numbers infront of Parliament of Pakistan in Islamabad to face off shiite protesters who are having a sit in protest for the past 5 days. Anti shia speeches and slogans have started. A clash could be sparked between the two camps. Government and police are silent spectators. Local media has been blacked out to give any coverage
