Salaam alaykum sisters!

Are there any girls here who are on the taller side and feel anxious about finding a spouse, bad because many brothers will not approach them because of their height/find it off-putting? Are there any tall girls with success stories?

I am just about 5'10" myself and tend to carry myself with a straight back too (good posture, thank you yoga/pilates, alhamdullilah) and I am thinner too -- so I just look REALLY tall. For instance if you see someone who is taller, but not really thin, they look more proportional from a distance, versus if you are tall and thin from far away you look like a tree :-). (Hey at least I have a sense of humor about this!)

It makes me worried to be honest sometimes because there are just not very many tall brothers around, unless I decide to marry a convert or somebody from the Netherlands, but as far as in my community I do not see anyone my height or taller. And I worry that the ones who ARE tall will go for somebody shorter!

What are your experiences in this regard? Can somebody offer me some hope here lol

And if you know any brothers who are very tall and single, well you know you can always get in touch with me! Haha

honestly, I wished I was as tall as you! it is only thing tht i am able to tell you sis!

It's nice sometimes and not so nice other times! I feel if I was 4 inches shorter I would have a much easier time finding a spouse.

Dear Sister, you shouldn't be worried about finding a spouse is not you, it is in Allah's hand to show you your spouse.

DONT BE WORRIED!!
I'm not not tall so I can't really give u first hand encouragement lol but I have a friend actually 4 friends that are really tall like that and supper skinny so they look taller and they all had no trouble finding someone, just relax ur spouse will come and he will be the perfect height inshallah

Two of my sisters are the same height as me, that is, 5'10". (I'm a guy by the way). We are in the process of finding a suitable guy for the elder 5'10" and it's turning out to be somewhat frustrating. She personally doesn't want a guy shorter than her. The minimum is the same height as her but, of course, slightly taller guys are preferable. The trouble is that we are having to rule out quite a few good, educated guys only because of their height. As it appears, most of them, too, don't want to marry a girl taller than them. The mother of one of the guys said so clearly and I thought it was so nice of her to tell us that in plain words.

So my sister, and I, empathise with you. All I can say is that hold on to the rope of the hope steadfastly. Even though the average height of men of late has gone down, there must be enough 5'10" or taller to match up with you. Inshallah.

Glad I am not alone. inshAllah best of luck to me, your sister, and all the tall girls of the world lol. Yes I am the same actually height is pretty much the only real deal breaker for me (in terms of purely superficial, worldly things, if he is a Mu'min [a real one], height is still a deal breaker...). I guess we will see.

My sister is around 6 feet tall and has been married twice to men taller than her so there's hope for you!

On a side note, my other sister who is 5' 8 or 5'9 was married twice to men shorter than her.

I am curious to know exactly what in the posts of the OP has made you think she is blaming "everything" for not being married?

She only raised one issue: her height. And if she wants someone taller than her than it definitely reduces her chances by few percentages.

yeah true, why from netherlands, cuz u live there? otherwise, i find them not handsome at all, just tall, we had an exchange class from netherlands for a semester,and the whole bunch, both girls and boys were like..taaaaaall. I felt so tiny and cute around them hehehe

Don't worry about it Inception, you didn't offend me... in fact the only thing I retained from your message was that you think 5'5" is tall at all after I said I was 5'10" lol! Trust me girl that's not tall .

im 5'6 and a bit so considered quite tall.......but 5'10 wow....i feel ur troubles man. To me it seems the taller the guy, the shorter the girl they want. If I was in your situation I'd seriously consider marrying revert just for their height.....being with a shorter man should be illegal.
