Salaam Sisters.

When I went to Syria for the Ziyaarah of Sayidah Zaynab (sa) I noticed a local scarf and coat shop one of the many, called Lady Madonna Hijab Shop, I was shocked. Not because of the fact that some brainless person has given a respectable clothesware shop a filthy woman's name but such name is an insult to Muslim women and why? Ofcourse she is know as 'Um al-Fasaad' ie the mother of corruption in women in the west and east especially since the 1970's + when made fame by dancing almost naked in filthy underwear openly to public and make nudity and porn a trend in women and initiated killing modesty and shame. Calling a Hijab shop after such person is not only an insult but a degrade. Ofcourse her career is not our concern but to name a shop that offers its service to respectable and modest women after a dirty woman who openly supports zionism is not only an insult to Hijab but also to humanity!

Maybe "Lady Madonna" was referring to something else?  Maryam ?

I think so......and the owner of the shop probably had some sort of Christian roots or is possibly even Christian. In fact I have seen a church in the U.S. (catholic) with the name 'Our Lady Madonna'.

Unless it had pictures of the singer, I imagine they were referring to the Madonna as in one of the titles that get used for Hadrat Maryam amongst Christians.

maybe the name of Madonna refers to the mother of Jesus. However I still think it is not very good name for Hijab shop

On the other hand Lady Madonna is rightfully a name of Saint Mary / Um-Eisa Maryam al-Adhra (sa).
This did occur to me aswell. I did visit the shop and realised it is owned and run by Muslims and the staff seemed very much into foreign stuff and music and even had foreign posters on the wall! So difficult to tell but then again from the thousands of names one can choose and many others rightful names one can take from Hadrah Maryam (sa) it seemed why 'Madonna'?

Madonna (the singer) stole the name from Lady Madonna and trashed it through her corruption. The fact that you only were able to associate the word with the singer is really proof enough of to what extent she and the media industry have hijacked the original term.

The singer Madonna's real name ie birth name was Louise Cinonne. She changed it officially when she began her dirty singing career.
