Salaam fellow Brs/Srs.

My sister and her friend bought a take-away home last weekend and that night she was sick like a dog atleast three times, once in the toilet, once in the bin because she couldnt make it to the bathroom and finally once in a carrier bag because although she just about made it to the bathroom my Mother was occupying it so as a last resort I threw her a plastic bag. I stood behind her the whole time and tryed to be as supportive as possible, all I can remember seeing was pieces and pieces of meat with the exception of abit of salad; soggy lettuce and slimey tomatoes and small pieces of cucumber which she almost choked on. She was glad she gave onions a miss. She was more glad once it was eventually over I mean her vomiting. Finally she flopped down on her bed having a tantrum, well I mean there was not much I could do was there? Well I still brought her some water and gave her some salt, she then tryed to rest. In the morning she further paid the full price of her take-away - in the loo. I wish I had gone first but nevermind me. Well she is better now but clearly not learnt any lesson as since she has had further outdoor meals.

Anyhow I dont mean to put anyone off kababs so should you wish a take-away this weekend then please dont holdback on my account - just enjoy heheee

Doner Kebab is the greatest thing ever invented. I want one next to my bed so that I can slice off meat whenever I wish.

That's shawarma isn't it...? I've had a bad experience with shawarma in Iraq so I can't be around it without feeling sick lol

Actually one of the reasons why I want to travel around the world is for the food. Of course it's only one of the many reasons but it's still there ^_^ lol

The picture of Kebab rotisserie looks very nice but that is not always how they make donar kebab. Some restaurants just put slices of meat on oven rack and bake it with lots of grease.

I like Iraqi Shwarma. Beef rolled into slices of pita bread and I just love the way how they fix the shawarma with juicy garlic sauce with onions. Yummy.

The Lebanese have their own way of making lamb shawma...it's more like gyro with delicious yoghurt cucumber sauces.

Getting hungry now

Salaam.
Shawarma and Donner is the same just the language is different, The word Shawarma is used in the Middle East and Donner is Turkish and now used in most parts of Europe thats all. Sharwarma / Donner is meat or chicken slow grilled on a long vertical skewer and to serve it is simply sliced lengthways down. What does depend is the quality of the meat ie whether whole pieces of meat is used or mechanically processed meat which is very popular meat donner using Turkish recipe. Middle East chicken sharwarma is also increasing everywhere and I say is healthier than the meat processed one.

hmm... "soggy lettuce and slimey tomatoes" deffinetly something you would expect to see in a kebab vomit but never had cucumber in a kebab, do you think the small pieces of cucumber may of come out of a salad she had from a previous meal??

I have mixed doner!

I haven't been there, I'll check it out.
There's one in Stoke Newington called The Best Turkish Kebab. That is voted as the best kebab shop in England and it is indeed very good.
