(bismillah) (salam)

On the Internet theists who really know how to defend their faith are a small minority. When I go to some other forums where theology is discussed in-depth, I find them teaming with atheists. Does anyone know of any good pro-ID/creation forum on the net which is frequented by knowledgeable theists?

So...you basically want to enclose yourself in a bubble from any other viewpoint. Block your ears and hear only what you want to hear? Because that isn't rife with problems or anything..

North Korea might really be up your alley, i'd consider applying for citizenship.

Intelligent design is not science but a rebranding of the Adam and Eve story.

Are you an idiot or something? He clearly stated he's merely looking for proactive and intelligent theists, thus attaining a balanced perspective from both sides. No one said anything about 'blocking your ears' to the other side.

Intelligent Evolution is not pseudo-science, but it's not exactly science either. It has the potential of becoming science for people who embrace the proposition "God created the world", and who wish to understand the "mechanism which God has put in place". Thus, 'teleology" would have a part to play in this sort of science, as opposed to modern day Evolution, which could be characterised as being 'blind'.

However, Intelligent Design as a sort of rebrand for creationism is a sham and totally opposed to the scientific spirit.

I had a long rant (since deleted) in response to lanat ma man.

I'm not sure what you mean by intelligent evolution, maybe theistic evolution? Either way, i have much less of a problem with that idea, infact almost none than compared to rejecting modern evolutionary theory all together. Evolution doesnt speak of the origin of life either, so theres room for God in there, same for the evolution of creatures, natural selection and other processes shaped this but God might of been one level above that and influencing natural selection, we cant really prove or disprove that, so, its not 100% scientific in the logical positivist sense but theistic evolution isn't obviously totally scientific to begin with, so its not like we can criticise it on that grounds. To say it isnt totally scientific doesnt mean it isn't reasonable or it isnt a good position, i think its a fairly good position to take.

I think he was talking about ID, i find it odd in USA they rebrand ID as a science or something serious when its so blindling obvious just another name for creationism, well at least for me anyway, they're pretty much synonmous. I personally find ID as a movement a bit sinsister, its not just an idea like creationism, its a whole movement borne out of shakey grounds too (one of the lead proponents michale behe is worried evolution leads to people abandoning their faith so its in his interests to disprove it, not that he necessarily has any problem with the science...its just because of that fact).

I find it odd you mention your distate for atheists inhabiting religion forums when those atheists are there to be exposed to a different view point and take in the diversity and in the same breath you say you want to shut yourself in and only discuss this with people who believe the same things you believe, just a little hypocritical.

I think theres the problem with how people approach creationism as well. They dont necessarily look at the evidence for evolution and try to disprove it, half the time they just plain ignore the evidence. They ignore the evidence and create their own idea, find scriptual and other evidence for their idea and take that as proof but they're ignoring the elephant in the room... Especially considering all the evidence evolution has, you cant just come up with an alternate idea, formulate proof for it and say it supplants evolution without proving evolution false...

For the record i had a quick look and i found most of these forums were teeming with atheists as you describe, damn those pesky atheists and scientists with their well proved alternate viewpoints...how dare they think differently to you or open your mind against your will...so i guess you're out of luck there.

Intelligent design is not a science. Nothing wrong with believing in it but it can not be tested and therefore should not be put forth as a science.

I don't understand the reason for the outburst. Where did I ever say that I don't want to study opposing views? I am sure that you have read some of my posts on the forum, do I come across as a person who knows nothing of opposing opinions? Your description of me is actually completely wrong.

I have nothing against atheists visiting religious forums, I think it's good to have them on this forum. I visit some forums on science and philosophy and  I have to avoid mentioning my beliefs because many of the people on there can be rude. For example, I was on freeratio.org asking a question on Irreducible Complexity and the responses were not very nice. So if I want an alternate (theist) view, I need to speak to knowledgeable people who hold those views.

You probably do.  I'm sure that you've seen enough to realise how touchy religious atheists can get when you question the main tenets of their faith.  Darwinism is sacred; anything that sounds remotely like criticism is heresy.  That's why the people on that forum were rude, and why kingpomba is so outraged at the thought of you visiting a pro-ID forum.  And it's also why I take darwinist claims with a pinch of salt.
