 I forgot four other legends: Sayed Mustafa al-Qazwini, Sayed Muhammed al-Musawi, Sheikh Jehad Ismail (Replicant, thnak you for reminding me :D ) and Brother Yahya Hayder Seymour.

Sayed Mustafa al-Qazwini: really good speaker, very knowledgeable and very practical. I don't live in the USA and, so, don't know their problems much but, from what I can say, his lectures are always focused on these issues and he talks in a way that the locals in USA can have practical and modern solutions to the problems they have - something really priceless if found in a religious leader.

Sayed Muhammed al-Musawi: his knowledge is IMMENSE. I don't know if he gives lectures and, if he does, I have not seen any but his Q&A show on Ahlulbayt TV has made me his fan. His knowledge is a lot and very broad, covering nearly all aspects of Islam; from aqaed to fiqh (practical issues), he knows it all! :D

Sheikh Jehad Ismail: another of the speakers, like Sayed Mustafa al-Qazwini, whose lectures are oriented by his audience - English speakers - and their problems. I don't know if people would agree with me but I think his style is very much like Brother Hassanain Rajabali or, atleast as compared to other speakers, most like him.

Brother Yahya Hayder Seymour: I just  this man! HE is soooo knowledgeable and, yet, so humble. I am always bugging him with questions and, despite him being such a busy man, he does reply to me a lot. Also, I like the way he is very neutral and professional. If you see him on TV, he is quite "expressionless" (I don't know if that is the right word) but his answers are very neutral and never have I seen him biased. I think we need to have this sort of mentality more amongst the Shias where they don't support views and ideologies because of a bias or because they were born into it but because they really see ti as the truth.

There is severe punishment in the hereafter ( but also ) forgiveness from Allah, and (His) pleasure. As for the life of this world, it is no more than merchandise of illusion. (Quran 57:20)

@ Sister Alaweya, I can't watch the debate due to internet connections! But, yes, I did like it. By the way, it seems you are only talking about the first debate. Did you know that there were, actually, two debates? In the first one, it was Hassanain Rajabali alone against Dan Barker (also alone) and, in the second one, it was Hassanain Rajabali and Micheal Corey against the atheist plus Richard Carrier.

It was the only initiative I have seen of such an event - debate with an atheist - taking place with a Shia in it.

Aside from Sheikh Hamid whose lectures I see all the times anyways, I generally watch speeches in Arabic given by maraji3, par example:

Well, most of you may not know him because he is an Urdu speaker, but my favorite  speaker would be Sayed Ali Murtaza Zaidi.
Yes sister, Ali Murtaza Zaidi hands down the best lecturer. We actually had a private session with him one time and he was running late and after he came he apologized for being late because his father passed away and he was burying him. If you sit with him you really know that you are sitting with one of the sons of Imams (as) so pious. Everything i learn was from him and his praise is really cant be said by a person like me. I think i have heard almost all of his lectures
Have you also heard of Jawad Naqvi? Another big respectable scholar whose knowledge is immense, the leader of future shia revolution in Pakistan.

Yeahhh he moved to our community in England, and he mostly hangs out with the youth. He comes out with us to restaurants and other lectures, etc. He's really cool.

Loool, yeahhh. Btw, since you probably know better than me, what line is he from? As in, which marji3 does he do taqlid of, etc?

Haha, yeahh same. :shifty:

I quite like shaykh Ahmad Haneef, I remember when i used to watch ahlul bayt tv, I always thought him and sister Ameen Inloes were by far the best thing on it, because they spoke their minds (I also think Muhammad al-musawi is funny, and on a fiqh level hes fine, but aside from that, I have very grave doubts about him)

First of all, I am NOT a Sister; I am a BROTHER! :P

Yes, Sayed Ali Murtaza Zaidi is LOVELY! I really love him! I think I can, easily, say that if I am even one bit religious, 90% of the credit would go to him as he was the means through which Allah (SWT) made me religious - even though I am not very religious. He is absolutely FABULOUS! His lectures are very much based on change and self building and the way he explains how to build yourself is sooooo amazing and systematic.

Can I have the full name of Sayed Jawad Naqvi and a pciture or a video of him would be very helpful, indeed. By the way, does he live in India?

lol sorry brother, and yes he is really influential. Probably the reason i became "religious" due to him or else i was a lost cause.
Here is video of Jawad Naqvi. Regarding him he is more of an "advance" alim. For example, Ali Murtaza Zaidi works on fixing the basics etc, Jawad Naqvi expects his crowd to already have established all the firuadeen and are actually at point of taking the next step.

they're all my favorite  . God reward them all :)
and they're really cool behind the scenes (when they're not lecturing)

By the way, I don't see why this topic is in the sister's forum. I suggest this topic to be moved into ''General discussions'' , since this matter concerns the brothers too.. right ?
unless the title of the topic was ''Who is the hottest lecturer?'' ...then i would understand  lol..
