There is an very important lesson here to be learned and which is still overlooked.
See as we know from divinity and divine laws that Homosexuality is haram we are quickly bias towards it, and quickly judge and rule that anything other then straight sex is haram. However a very important point is overlooked and ignored
Heterosexual sex also falls under this category as haram when its reason and purpose is solely for pleasure and lust, there are many brothers in the world, who are perfectly straight and perfectly attracted to females, and because of their comfort that there was no story of Lut in the Quran for straight relationships, they see "muta" and "marraige just for sex" as fine and somehow blessed, but they fail to realize a very important point. All lust is haram
I draw your attention to this verse
"have you seen the one who has taken as his Lord his own vain desires"
What my point here is(and i know i am interrupting the flow of this post and taking it elsewhere) just as this brother struggled with himself to overcome his desires, and perhaps he has succeeded, straight and hetrosexual brothers need to realize that they also must overcome their desires and lusts so that they dont feel any lusts towards the woman of the world
i am not saying that all sex is wrong, but i am saying all lust is wrong, it is an evil in us which must be eradicated, and Allah sends to us these lessons such as this young man with his difficulty to teach us and call us to something better by demonstrating how desires need to be overcome, and that they do not discriminate.
its not a blessing to be having sex which is lawful, rather its a veil over the heart, and it causes the person to be completely blind to truth, and it tarries them away from their original goal which is God
we have to remember why we are put here on earth, not because to find out comfort our lovers our wives, our houses and children and all the rest that that humanity chases so aimlessly after, our purpose is to free ourselves from these chains and fetters and find God so that we may return to him in pure and original perfect form that we were originally created
"we have created man in the best of make, and then we rendered him to the lowest low, except those who do good..." quran
our lives, our wealth and our health is all for Allah
people think that our life is meant to be comfort and fun and ease, and as if we were created in some kind of waiting room before we enter heaven where there will be no difficulties and hardships, so then Allah goes ahead and creates all these variations of human to teach us and to remind us as to what desire and lusts are, so that we may with out aql scrutinize them, and force our heart towards God away from its self connections and its self love of pure pleasure and relief
understand how important it is to be free from all the carnal desires of this life, it is the basic of faith of God
faith is not what i heard, learned, remembered in my mind, but rather what my heart become pure and accommodated God within itself and clung only to God not to other things
this brother with his beautiful story has demonstrated how wrong and false lust is, no matter which kind, because if lust was correct, then it woulndt have so many forms as this man has shown, it would be correct and everyone would have equal serving of lust from God because God is not unjust, but in showing that some have this kind and some have that kind, shows that all it is that it must be eliminated
having said that it doesnt mean that you stop all sex and live celebant lives, sex is necessary for reproduction and of course the natural release is to be used for the purpose of its creation, not for that component which comes with the practise of reproduction at the cost of wasting Gods creation
Sexx for pleasure of any kind if wrong, and those whos hearrts are limited in this world by the chains and feters of it, are lost and confused and blinded by its veils
Love is also different to lust, because love is also between parents and children and between man and God, yet these relationships dont need sex to prove it
my conclusion here, lust must be eliminated, love is pure, and our aim in this life is not to live an "ideal" life where we get married get jobs, study at universities and schools, go to mosque on special occasions, have children make money, have a laugh, dont do any of the basic evil commandments, have fun, be happy etc no this is not the point of life, otherwise the Imams and Prophets and men and woman of God would have pursued it
our purpose is God to get to know God and to purify ourselves from our lower self, and eventually higher self until we reach truth
the truth is, and its hard to grasp, is that we dont exist, we are God's, there is no me there is only God
but this cant be understood until self annihilation is achieved
again like i said it doesnt mean we dont get jobs, it doesnt mean we dont get married, it doesnt mean we never smile
it means we work to support our family(and this needs to be discussed and understood because people take this to all different kinds of heights of understanding) it means we get married(in order to bond with another human being for Allah in order to maintain muslims in the future as a medium) it means we socialise etc and work together, but only for Allah to serve Allah, but all of this can never happen until we first purify ourselves
however people these days study and learn but in order to get a good job, make god money, live like kings, have mansions, have the newest cars, pursue our passions and entertainments, have fun, be happy, be plump, have as many wives as we need to match the growing demand for our sexual partners and satisfy this relief until we are old and bored of all this, and then we die, and in the end achieved nothing, we are worse of then we started, and have lived life just like the kufar except to a lower degree as in we didnt drink, we didnt have as many sexual partners, we didnt gamble, but we did everything else, weve been everywhere, and weve done all of our hobbies and passions
that is the life of a modern muslim, serving and worshipping himself(myself included i am not free from guilt of this charge)
we need to be like this man, who is better then all of us, he eliminated/is eliminating the nafs to be free from this desire, and by doing so he is reveling the lights of truth(Allah) to himself and seeing further the path getting enlightened towards his direction
his so called "curse" is a blessing in disguise while the rest of the brothers are doing "muta" and changing wives just in order to satisfy themselves under the context of Halal without any thought or observations as to whom i am and where i am going, and mention this to him, and he willl call you as going to far away and extreme

I am not sure what you are trying to say, but in Islam, the purpose of sex is both reproduction and pleasure. I think all marjas permit contraception. Why would contraception be permitted if the only purpose of sex is reproduction. What I understand from your post is more like what the Catholic Church says. Plus, having no desire for the opposite gender clearly goes against islam. Marriage completes half of our deen according to Prophet Muhammad
The Quran says:-
``And of His signs is that He created for you spouses of yourselves, so as to have comfort in her.'' (30:21)
Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi's Tafsir of this Verse
The mystery of sex is also a very wonderful matter. The union of male and female, and the love and mercy that appears between them as a strong tie to attach them to a moral and legal obligation. Then the mother brings forth the children, and the role of the father is no less important in this connection. Then rest, comfort, and tranquillity, lays in the sacred bond of marriage, or, at least it should be found there with the spouses. This comfort comes because men and women are two different creatures with their own nature, but they are the complementary of one another, and together will make a perfect creature that is called a human being. This is because they mutually supply each other's lack.
A couple of hadith
Muhammad b. Ya`qub from Muhammad b. Yahya the perfumer from `Abdullah b. Muhammad from `Ali b. al-Hakam from Aban b. `Uthman from `Umar b. Yazid from Abu `Abdillah عليه السلام. He said: I do not reckon that a man shall increase goodly in faith until he increases in the love of women.
And from him from his father from Ibn Abi `Umayr from Bakkar b. Kardam and more than one, from Abu `Abdillah عليه السلام. He said: The Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وآله said: The coolness of my eye has been put in salat, and my pleasure in women.
Furthermore, the verses of the story of Lut in the Quran actually refute what I understand you are suggesting:-
Indeed you come to men with desire instead of women! Rather you are a profligate lot. (7:81)
The verses do not say that you should aim to eliminite your desire towards the oppossite gender. Infact they are telling us to have desire towards women (ofcourse in marriage).

There are many "ex-gay" people though that convinced themselves that they had changed their sexuality, and actually realized much later that their attractions never changed. They were just forcing themselves to believe that they had, so that they wouldn't have to deal with homophobia.
