(bismillah)
(salam) believers.
"And your Lord says: Call upon Me, I will answer you"
[Chapter 40, Verse 60]

As followers of the Ahlulbayt (as), I believe one of our greatest treasures is the supplications we have been given by our leaders (as).
The way they speak to their Lord is unique and just downright amazing. It fills me with awe.

I want to make this thread in order for us to share our favourite lines from any of the duas/supplications we have.
Try to avoid posting big excerpts. Instead, just post a few lines that you love and then tell us from what supplication they come from so that we can look them up. You can obviously post as many as you want, I'm hoping this thread has many pages.

One of my favourite lines:

"If I am not fit for gaining Your Mercy, You are certainly fit to be generous to me by virtue of Your Magnanimity"
- Munajat Shabaaniyah by Imam Ali (as)

"Sometimes you find requests are not immediately granted. Do not be disappointed. Fulfillment of desires rest in the true purpose or intention of the prayer. More often fulfillment is delayed because merciful Lord wants to bestow upon you suitable rewards. In the meantime bear patiently hardships, believing sincerely in His help. You will get better favours, because, unknowingly you may ask for things which are really harmful to you. Many of your requests, if granted, may bring eternal damnation. So at times, withholding fulfillment is a blessing in disguise."

-Ameerul Mu'mineen (as)

i love what he says, it gives me hope.

Not from a dua, so sorry if i'm deviating from the focus of the thread, but these are my favourite verses from the Qur'an:

93:3 - Your Lord has not forsaken you, nor does He dislike you!
93:4 - And indeed the latter is better for you than the former.
93:5 - And indeed your Lord will soon give you so that you will be pleased.
93:6 - Did He not find you an orphan, and so provided you shelter?
93:7 - And found you deeply engrossed in His love, and so directed you?
93:8 - And found you in need, and so made you prosperous?

My God,
I pray forgiveness from Thee for
every pleasure but remembering Thee,
every ease but intimacy with Thee,
every happiness but nearness to Thee,
every occupation but obeying Thee!

And seek help through patience and prayer, and indeed,
it is difficult except for the humbly submissive [to Allah ] { 2:45 }

O my Allah, let the curse I call down on the head of the first tyrant stick like a leech; and stay put for ever on the first, then the second, the third and the fourth.

O my Allah damn and call down evil on the fifth, Yazid son of Mua'awyah, and bring a curse upon Ubaydullah son of Ziyaad, ibna Marjanah, Umar son of Saad, and Shimr, and on the descendants of Abu Sufyaan, on the descendants of Ziyaad, on the descendants of Marwaan, till the Day of judgement.

"O Allah! Send your blessings and salutations to Mohammed and descendents of Mohammed.
O’ Allah! Curse the two idols of Quraish and their two magicians, their two rebellious people, their two accusers and their two daughters. Rebuke them, they have consumed Your sustenance and have denied Your obligations, both have discarded Your commands, have rejected Your revelation, have disobeyed Your Prophet, have destroyed Your religion, have distorted Your book, have made Your laws ineffective, have declared Your obligatory actions as incorrect, have disbelieved in Your signs, have oppressed Your friends, have favoured Your enemies, have spread corruption among Your people, have made Your world unstable and subject to losses."

(bismillah)
(salam)

Some extracts from Dua Abu Hamza by Imam Sajjad (as):

"11 All praise be to Allah alone Who answers me whenever I call on Him, الْحَمْدُ لِلّهِ الَّذِي أَدْعُوهُ فَيُجِيبُنِي 11
12 Although I am slow whenever He calls me!
13 All praise be to Allah alone Who gives me whenever I ask Him,
14 Although I am close-fisted when He asks me for a loan!
15 All praise be to Allah alone to Whom I call out, whenever I wish, for my need,
16 And with Whom I secretly converse wherever I wish, without need for an intercessor,
17 And He fulfils my need!

24 All praise be to Allah alone Who has sought my friendship while He can dispense with me.

60 I call upon You, O my Chief, with a tongue silenced by its sins!
61 My Lord! I confide in You with a heart debased by its offenses!
62 I pray to You, O my Lord, with fear and desire, hopeful and fearful!
63 Whenever I think of my sins, O my Master, I am fearful,
64 But when I think of Your generosity, I am desirous (of Your pardon).
65 Therefore, if You forgive, then You are the best of those who show mercy,
66 And if You punish, then You have not been unjust.

87 In fact, had anyone other than You known of my sin, I would not have committed it,
88 And had I feared the hastening of the punishment, I would have avoided it,
89 Not because You are the least important of those who see me,
90 Or the most insignificant of those who know me,
91 Rather, it is because You, O my Lord, are the best of those who cover up (one’s sins),
92 And the wisest of those who judge,
93 And the most generous of the generous,
94 The concealer of defects,
95 The Forgiver of sins,
96 The Knower of the unseen!
97 You conceal sins through Your Liberality,
98 And defer punishment through Your Forbearance!

"And why would I not weep for I have no knowledge of my fate and I observe my self deceiving itself, and my days are fading away, and the wings of death have flapped close by, So why wouldn't I cry!
I cry for surrendering my life,
I cry because of the darkness of my grave,
I cry because of the narrowness of my grave,
I cry for the questioning of Munkar and Nakeer of me,
I cry from my leaving my grave naked, humiliated and carrying my book (of deeds) on my back,
I look to the right once and to the left once and I discover that people today have other concern than mine, for every person that day has a concern of his own..."

22O Allah, make me firm in Thy religion as long as Thou keepest me alive,

Your favourite lines of supplication are la3nah?

No asking Allah for forgiveness, no dua about the reappearance of Imam al-Mahdi (as), no dua about love of Ahlul Bayt?

SD you're developing some disturbing issues bro - you need to stay out of the chatroom.

Just because my favourite lines of dua are sending la3nah, it doesnt mean I dont love the lines where I ask for forgiveness, or pray for the hastening of the return of Imam [atfs] or about how much I love the Ahlul Bayt [as]

Its not disturbing issues, la3nah is a part of my faith. It may seem that I am becoming obsessed with it, but I'm not.

The reason why I love sending la3nah, and love that part especially in ziarat ashura, is because I am asking Allah (swt) to punish the one who stole the right of My Imam [as], the one who was an oppressor towards the Family which I love, the one who changed the religion of Allah ÓÈÍÇäå æÊÚÇáì, the one who changed the laws of Allah ÓÈÍÇäå æÊÚÇáì, the one who broke the rib of the woman who is the most beloved [as], the one who killed the grandson of the Prophet (pbuh), the one who sat on Imam Hussein [as] and cut his head, the one who ordered the horses to trample on the bodies of my Imam [as], the one who fought against My Imam [as], the one who was the reason for the death of Imam Hassan [as], the one who were the foundations of oppression towards the Ahlul Bayt [as], and the followers of some of them.

The best part about it is, me asking Allah (swt) to withdraw his mercy on them, does have an effect, whatever that effect may be, whether it be big or small, it has one.

Kayfa ad3ooka wa ana ana.. wa kayfa aqta3u rajaaee minka wa anta anta?
How do I ask from you when I am I, and how can I lose hope when You are You?

I pray to You, O' my master, with a tongue that has been paralyzed by its sin, O' my Lord, I confide to You with a heart that has been doomed by its mischief; I pray to You, O' my Lord, frightened but wishful, hopeful but fearful If I contemplate my sins, O' my Lord, I become scared, but when I remember Your generosity I yearn, So, if You forgive, You are the most merciful and if You punish, You have not unjustly judged.

and:
O' Lord! I, whenever I thought I was prepared and ready and rose to pray, before Your hands, and confided to You, You cast sleep on me when I prayed, and You prevented me from confiding to You when I confided, Why is it that whenever I felt content about the goodness of my core, and my companionships have neared that of the repentants, a sin would occur and cause my feet to stumble, and deprive me from Your service, O' my Master, Maybe You have expelled me from Your door, and retired me from Your service, or maybe You observed my disregard of Your right on me and thus distanced me, or maybe You saw me headed away from (Your path) and thus You withdrew me, or maybe You found me to be in the position of the liars so You rejected me, or maybe You saw that I was not grateful of Your rewards so You deprived me, or maybe You observed my absence from the assembly of the scholars and thus put me down, or maybe You found me to be one of the unheeding so You despaired me from Your mercy, or maybe You found me frequenting the assembly of the unfaithful, so between me and them You deserted me, or maybe You did not like to listen to my prayers so You distanced me, or maybe You equated me with my crime and sin, or maybe You punished me for my lack of shyness from You. So if You forgive, O' Lord, You have forgiven the many sinners before me. For Your generosity, O' Lord, is higher than punishing the delinquents, and I am seeking refuge with Your bountifulness, and I am escaping from You to You, and anticipating Your promise to pardon those who possessed good convictions about You.
Dua Abu Hamza Thumali

Imam Husain (a) replied to a man who said, 'Sit down so we can debate about religion' – 'I am aware of my religion, and my path is clear for me. So, if you are ignorant about your religion then go and seek it. What do I have to do with disputation? Indeed the devil tempts a person and calls him, saying, 'Debate with people regarding their religion so that they do not think of you as incapable and ignorant.'

O lord , grant me your love,

Grant me that I love those who love you,

grant me, that  I  might do the deeds that win Your love.

Make Your love dearer to me than the love of myself, my family and wealth!

2) When Allah created His creatures, He wrote above His Throne, " Verily, my compassion overcomes My wrath !"

3) If you put your whole trust in Allah as you ought to, He most certainly satisfy your needs as He satisfies of the birds...They come out hungry in the morning but return full to their nests!

Thanks for pinning.

"Praise be to Allah, Who gives answer to me whenever I call Him;
covers up my shortcomings yet I disobey Him;
gives me the largest part of the bounties yet I want more.
Many favours He has sanctioned; many terrible dangers He has averted;
and many blossoming joys he has made available for me.
Therefore, I sing His praises and recite His glorifications."
