so today while I was in the shop w my friends selling my hand knitted goods.. a lady came in
she kept admiring my work and everything.. then she got closer saying do you want me to give you a tip that will help you.. I was like sure what is it.. then she whispered: have you asked Jesus to help you..
WTH! I said I have asked GOD 2, and then she continued.. just ask Jesus who he is and he'll show you the way.. like obviously I am ON A PATH to God since am hijabi n everything, but that was just ANNOYING!
After that, she started talking with my friends who were Christians (but the normal ones) and they brought up a campaigning retreat ( A SUPER CHRISTIAN ONE) and then she turned you should come and learn about Jesus. I really didn't wana snap and wanted to remain professional, and said Thank you, but I am happy with my God!
I have met pretty strong Christians before, and A LOT wanted to convert me, and some used weird approaches, but this one offended me the most!
what would you have said?

should have replied by saying imam mahdi as, is our saviour, assisted by prophet jesus as, but the "jesus" you think is actually the dajjal/ false messiah.
that usually makes them listen more intently or sickens them so they leave on the spot, either one is a good thing in my eyes o.0
Allah is the Light of the heavens and the earth. The example of His light is like a niche within which is a lamp, the lamp is within glass, the glass as if it were a pearly [white] star lit from [the oil of] a blessed olive tree, neither of the east nor of the west, whose oil would almost glow even if untouched by fire. Light upon light. Allah guides to His light whom He wills. And Allah presents examples for the people, and Allah is Knowing of all things.

Alaykum asalaam.
Ehhhh you get people like that. Funny thing is, if they didn't approach in the way they did (the extreme crazy ones) I would actually listen to them. I've had a couple of nice ones approach me before, and we had a really good discussion and realised we agreed on a lot of terms.
I was once visiting the uni to see someone and one of them stopped me and handed all these booklets to me and started preaching like that priest off Coming to America.
In the end I'd say the main thing is to stay patient and try have some dialogue with them. If they get abit crazy then tell them I am to mine and you are to yours, and wish them a good day. Then start walking.
One regret, dear world,
That I am determined not to have
When I am lying on my deathbed
Is that
I did not kiss you enough.

I Hate, Because I Love.
Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Hammad from Hariz from Fudayl ibn Yasar who has said the following:
"I asked abu 'Abd Allah, recipient of divine supreme covenant, 'Are love and hate part of belief?' The Imam asked, 'Is belief anything but love and hate?'

My more liberal friend asked 'my friend here is muslim, is he going to hell?' she answered "well if he really wants to find god he might some day just find him". Then she spent 10 minutes talking about the bible...

A kind of similar thing happened to me near Christmas when I was in Florida. I was with my friend when we got in a mini car accident or whatever. I was standing on the side of the road when a woman in a minivan popped her head out and yelled "Merry Christmas! Jesus loves EVERYONE!!"...Ugh, lol. I took it more like this "Jesus loves EVERYONE, even smelly Muslims."

I had the JWs come to my door. I said, "In your Bible John 1:1 it says In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was "a" god."
"So tell me, why do you get two gods and I only get one?"
Haven't seen them since and it's been years now.

Oh I know. But since water can be three things, it made sense to the author who was compared water being three things thus God could be three things.

what would you have said?
I would have said, "That's nice but I know where God is and that is in my heart and yours now that you have that information what are you going to do with it? I am happy and convinced of my faith and don't appreciate you and others like you interrupting me."
Another way I have handled it is to agree to listen to them if they first let me tell them about my faith. They usually leave quietly.

It certainly can. Go down to a local body of water and fill a jug with river water or pond water it makes no distance. Pour some of the water in an ice cube tray and put it in the freezer, a couple hours later pour some of the remaining water in a sauce pan and bring it to boil and keep the remaing water in the jug. Take the frozen pond water out and put it on the table. What do you have, a part of the pond in the jug, part of the pond frozen and lastly part of the pond in a gaseous state. If you condense the pond water steam back into the jug, put the frozen pond back in the jug and pour the jug into the pond what have you done? It was the pond all the time and you had it in three forms. This is how it is with God but God being in two, God being formless and God being in you and I like a fire and a spark. The spark is still the fire though apart.

You have just given a good illustration of the three Manifestations of God,
However, the pond was still there when you took a jug of it for your illustration.
The Pond is like God, who is above anything we can imagine or try to describe, --- but the three Manifestations of liquid, solid and gaseous, --- reveal, in sample form, --- how great God is.--- How He can reveal Himself in a form that we can understand, (or in three forms at the same time) --- and then return to Himself, --- again to be One.

It also illustrates the relationship of the atman to The Absolute. I very much appreciate the brevity of your post.

It's not relative because we'd be elucidating on that which we have no knowledge of directly; the world around us is best used for recognizing aspects of God via apophatic theology (comparison-wise, that is).
