Hello!
I wonder if it's okay for a shia girl to do mutah with a sunni guy? Does he have to believe in it or not? And can a shia girl marry a sunni guy even if they have way different beliefs in Islam?

Thanks

I dunno about the first question, but I may have the answer to the second and third:

Well, presuming the whole Mutah stance can be reversed to the feminine side of things, I don't think he has to believe in it because for a shia guy doing Mutah with a girl from Al-Kitab normally (At least I don't think) the girl won't really believe in it but doesn't mind doing it. From my personal experience anyway.

I don't think a Shi'a girl can marry a Sunni guy.

Most scholars say it is allowed to contract a permanent marriage (not sure about a temporary one) with a Sunni as long as there is no fear of corruption in your religion. But to be honest, unless you weren't at all religious yourself, why would you want to be married to someone who loves the oppressors of the Ahlulbayt (as). And if he doesn't love those oppressors, and is ignorant of his own religion, then why would you want such a person as your husband and the father of your children?

You should take a long term view of this, and wonder if it is really in the best interests of you and your children to be married to such a person, who may also become more religious in the future, which would make it difficult for you to practice your own religion without him trying to influence you.
And they serve beside Allah what can neither harm them nor profit them, and they say: These are our intercessors with Allah. Say: Do you (presume to) inform Allah of what He knows not in the heavens and the earth? Glory be to Him, and supremely exalted is He above what they set up (with Him). [Qur'an 10:18, Shakir translation]

Now, surely, sincere obedience is due to Allah (alone) and (as for) those who take guardians besides Him, (saying), We do not serve them save that they may make us nearer to Allah, surely Allah will judge between them in that in which they differ; surely Allah does not guide him aright who is a liar, ungrateful. [Qur'an 39:3, Shakir translation]

Actually the thing is that I dont live in a place where you can find many shia muslims, so my thought was that if i married a sunni guy and as long as he doesnt make me believe in the things he believes in then its okay...

for how long can the mutah "contract" be? and how do you do it? i don't know much about it.....

The Imams [a] have said that if you do an action (mut'ah in this case) while not believing in it or believing it to be haraam, then it will be written down as a sin for you.  You must convince the Sunni of mut'ah first before you can contract one with him.

As to marrying a Sunni, if he is tolerant of your view views, then there shouldn't be a problem.  However, it would be your responsibility to make sure that all of your children come out Shii.

Agree with Brother Irshad, it will be your responsibility to raise children as Shia and for that to happen you might need to learn more about shia islam yourself first (going by the fact that you dont know much about mutah and marriage). Tell the guy before hand that you want to raise children shia

Where do you live, surely  there must be a Shia community where you are?

Why would you love a sunni guy anway, what if he loves the oppressors of the Ahlulbayt, then what, are you a religious person and what if you was pregnant by him, what about the children, how would they be brough up, your bloodline would be destroyed - a shia girl cannot marry a sunni
