(salam)

I already posted this some time ago at the technical forum but got no answer:

There is no emoticon for "alayhe salam" Úáیå ÇáÓáÇã. For example if I want to write: "Imam Sadiq alayhe salam said..." I only have two options: "Imam Sadiq (as) said..." or "Imam Sadiq (pbuh) said...". These are both incorrect because the first is in plural form and can not be used for one person and the second is only applicable to the prophet (pbuh). A similar version must also be created for when referring to women i.e "alayha salam (ÚáیåÇ ÇáÓáÇã)" and another for when referring to two people "alayhema salam (ÚáیåãÇ ÇáÓáÇã)".

New emoticons must be added for these. Does anyone agree? or Not?

Is there anything to say after Allah's (subhanatala) name?

Only if this forums was overwhelmingly populated by Arabic speaking Muslims. Any version of A.S. does for me. I wouldn't know the terms for singular, plural for two, plural for more than two, and for males/females LOL.

Why did the mods move this thread? No one hardly ever reads the "technical support..." subforum. I put this in the general section so that more people could tell their opinion.

I understand what you mean but believe me for people like me who understand Arabic this is very irritating.

Don't worry it's been noticed by the admin/mod staff.  I think it's a good idea, let me look into it, in sha Allah.

You guys just figured this out now? :P

There is also, without the gaps, ( a ) :   عليه السلام, but I don't know if they've implemented the other two suggestions. If they haven't, then they should.

Edited by Haydar Husayn, 16 June 2012 - 06:29 AM.

And they serve beside Allah what can neither harm them nor profit them, and they say: These are our intercessors with Allah. Say: Do you (presume to) inform Allah of what He knows not in the heavens and the earth? Glory be to Him, and supremely exalted is He above what they set up (with Him). [Qur'an 10:18, Shakir translation]

Now, surely, sincere obedience is due to Allah (alone) and (as for) those who take guardians besides Him, (saying), We do not serve them save that they may make us nearer to Allah, surely Allah will judge between them in that in which they differ; surely Allah does not guide him aright who is a liar, ungrateful. [Qur'an 39:3, Shakir translation]

Thanks for letting me know about the (a) I didn't know that :)
