I heard from Zaereen of Kerbala that they were not allowed to do Qama and Zanjeer Zani this Arbayeen...Did Ayatollah Sistani says it is haram ?If not why was it not allowed this time.
Any brothers or sisters who can shed some light on this matter.

I heard from Zaereen of Kerbala that they were not allowed to do Qama and Zanjeer Zani this Arbayeen...Did Ayatollah Sistani says it is haram ?If not why was it not allowed this time.

read Ayatullah Seestani's ruling about Qama and Zanjeer with blades its an eye opener. The die hard blood letters of course claim there is room for doubt as to whether it is haram or halal. However cross examining resident Alims who are muqallids of Ayatullah Seestani reveals he is firmly against it,
as to wh Zanjeer and Qama are carried out in Iraq despite Ayatullah Seestani's ruling the reason is simple. Ayatullah Seestani does not rule Iraq therefore his rulings carry no legal force.

I saw some videos on tv and on youtube, it seems that the organised processions are now just using blunt sticks on rope, and no blades are to be seen.
The guys doing it were in a circle with white towels on their backs, they never bled, just struck their backs like a drum, making noise.
They all did it in rhythmn, it was quite musical, nice to watch.

in regards to the OP: i know many people who were in Karbala at the time and the Azadari of Imam Hussain continued with due reverence! this includes Qama and Zanjeer.
in regards to those who are trying to fuel another debate against various forms of Azadari: please save it for appropriate forums. there are enough created already. lets stick to the topic.

So yep, I was actually trying to point out that he DID NOT say it was Haraam.
It was to be avoided because of security reasons...
Apparently, about 40-60 something terrorists had entered Karbala- and you never know what kind of person is on one end of the Qama sword.
there was also a mo'jiza, I heard, regarding one of the female terorists.
