I started wearing Hijab at the age of 7

In my school, they were having a concert, and that year they were going to sing a song about Ramadhan. (it was this nasheed http://www.ramadhan....ed_the_sky.html )

I was really excited, and since it felt like a really special day, I decided to wear hijab to school. Then, I just kept on wearing it every day after that! ;)

(salam)

I was 18 when i started wearing it properly.. before that when i was younger abt 7 to 9 i wore it on and off.. after that my school wouldnt allow when i came overseas and no one really to support me then. so after tht i put it on in college and havent looked back since! Alhumdolillah!

But I hope tht my daughter when i have one.. will start wearing it much earlier insha'Allah!

Before I was born!!!!  :!!!:

Yeahhh... true... my mom wore her hijab the year I was conceived so that makes me a hijabi before birth!!!  :D

I'm not sure if I can be qualified to be called a decent hijabi, but can claim this that not a single namehram has seen my hair from the age of 9.  :Hijabi:

ufff hijab hijab hijab. Why do you Muslims oppress your women so much? Let them express their personality. Men should be able to control themselves. :D

Well, from when did you start wearing the hijab?  :o

Don't you know namehrams aren't allowed to trespass on hijabi territory?  :yaali:

I just realized that I haven?t said anything about myself.....so here it is

started wearing it around 5 or 6 but that wasn?t proper hijab, like I wud go out wearing a short skirt or dress with a chador on top and get caught by one those Irani meanie old women

But by the age of 9 alhmduallah I started wearing it the proper way, this was in Iran were so many school would come together with all gurls in white to celebrate the event, called "jashnaa takleeef"  this was b4 not sure if they still do that.

I started it from about 7-8. I loved to wear it before then but my daddy was a strict man and at that time not very religious (he is religious now) and i was always afraid to ask him let me wear hijab.
haha I remember the time i wanted to ask him he was driving the car and I thought "it is a good time since he is driving and even if he gets crazy he wont be able to hurt me". then I asked him to let me wear my hijab and replied affirmative. I love hijab...
