As a young man, he was photographed once using tobacco. However, in 2006 he spoke out against smoking. There may be earlier evidence that he is against smoking, but I did not search further.

I wonder how the white Indo-Europeans living in Iran feel about that. I think i'v lost support for him, he is clearly living in the late 1970's.
