Has anyone else verified this?  I can't believe people would still be buying Pepsi in Muslim countries if it were proven that it contained alcohol.

Thanks for the info. bro.  Can we then assume from this then that the alcohol contained in vanilla extract and white wine vinegar is also halaal?

White wine vinegar does not contain alcohol.  It is white wine that has fermented past the alcohol stage.  All vinegar starts out as alcohol, then it goes through a chemical change and is no longer alcoholic.

i was told that if vanilla extract was used in a food that went through change (cooking/baking---> cake, cookies, ect.) and was not still in its chemical compostion, which happens after cooking anything, it is halaal.

Although,it is good some take the responsibility of checking out foodstuff,and not just assume or listen to talk and assumptions,I must say there are others issues that would make a thing haram.
Pepsi,no matter if it contains alcohol or not,isnt it an american product?
Wouldnt that alone qualify to make it somethin to avoid?
According to some of our ulema's,american products are now concidered haram to purchase.
Maybe a point to remember...

Zam Zam cola is terrible, but in my opinon, it all is. I don't drink pepsi or coca cola.... I think it's really bad for the health and has no nutritional value. Even if it's halal, I find it better to abstain from it.

Damn, nestle sells so much stuff in pakistan, its crazy.  I think if more people knew, there would be more boycotting.

I'm glad intel is on the list, their processor sucks.  AMD all the way.

Some kid at our Islamic Center posted an article on the bulletin board from pepsi.com that said they did not contain any alcohol.

Dangit, some good companies are on the list like

Coca Cola (this I can live without)
Disney (I like their theme parks)
IBM (they make some components that are in game consoles and in my PC)
Nestle (they have some good chocolates and Nesquik)
Nokia (I have a Nokia cell phone right now :/ )
Starbucks (They have the best coffee related food in the world)

Why do these countries have to invest in Israel?

i drink pepsi and mountain dew. and what is the point of boycotting companies? look at the government how much money they give to israel. if u want to boycott, go live in palestine.
