[color=#000000:post_uid14]Bismillah..

Assalaam Alaikum,

Insha'Allah you are in the best of health and Iman.

aa Sis Ya Imam Mehdi... noo don't say that! lool that's what I learned eeee it's ok, I will just have to sue someone for purgery :s :)

ok meats and potaatohs type of guy.. ok u wanna some lamb chops :D

hehe hmm lemme think something of the top of my head... ummm ur husband like chicken?  ok I hope so (I never realized how much chicken I make lool)

ok this is some sorta marinated chicken stuff and once again easy easy easy!

What you need:

1) CHICKEN hehe, it can be boneless or boned, but preferably chicken breast.

2) some salad dressin.. I've only used ranch and Italian so far.

3) Rice.. (uff u choose what kinda to make, some people just expect other to do everything for them! :P)

salt pepper etc.

okie dokie.. You're going to need a casserole dish.. well hmm a baking pan woould be alright.. but really casserole dish with lid and all is better.  This is so easy u guys are gonna laff, lol. Ok all you have to do is sprinkle some salt and/or pepper (dont need pepper)  on the chicken.  Then youre going to get the chicken and start to pour the dressin all over it.  Make sure it is all covered with the dressing.. rub it in :)  mm but don't drown it in dressing! (when I say pour all over it, I mean make sure the dressing is covering all the chicken with a lil over to make it more juicy) Now, you're going to want to let this marinate for a few hours.  The longer it marinates the yummier it'll be.  Usually I leave it over-night in the fridge.  When you are ready to cook it, just put it like on 350 degrees? (thats farenheit people!) and cook til done (45 mins?).  You can for the last 5-10 minutes take the lid off and let the chicken brown.

I really suggest letting it marinate over night! it's a world of difference! ooo yea and serve it with salad and veggies....duh you're s'posed to serve salad and veggies with everything lool :P

ok that's my recipe for today :)

ya'll want some desert? lool  aaa I want desert.. I donno many desert stuffs...... anyone? Im thinkin CHEESECAKE :)  .....*and her mouth starts watering*

ok, take care everyone, wasalam Alaikum

[color=#000000:post_uid1]oo hehe sis Ya Imam Mehdi dont think that was very meat and potato-ish :) but it's all good.

ok I've got time on my hands, Ima put another.. let's see.. Im tryna think meat.. I know some Irani foods?

oo oo wait I got one.. this has meat AND potatoes :)

what you need:

1) RICEEEE

2) ground beef.. or stew meat (I never tried it with stew meat, but I'm thinkin it'll be ok lol)

3) hmm few potatoes.. peeled, cute into likkee I dono chunks lol umm well i guess quarted would be ok (if you're using medium-sized potatoes)

4) Can or two of green beans (this time I really sugest the french style kind, but other one would be alright)

5) one of those lil cans of tomatoe sauce (what are they 4 oz?)

Fry the ground beef with some onions... and spices (make sure cinnamon).

Boil the potatoes in salted and/or buttered (add like 2 tbls of butter for some taste) in water.  After the potatoes are pretty done (make sure they're not overcooked bc then the food will be really mushhyy. Actually it would be ok if they are a lil under cooked.. bc they will cook a lil longer after you add the other stuff).  Add your ground beef, green beans, and tomotoe sauce (sometimes you might not need the whole can.. sometimes you might need more. Just know that it is not supposed to be very tomatoe.. it's just for some flavor/soupy stuffs)  Add some cinnamon (and you can add the turmerik and cumin if you like).  Let it comes to a boil, and then turn to low and simmer (covered) for like 10-20 minutes ( I guess it kinda depends on how much u let your potatoes cook the first time.)

Serve over rice :) Once again try it with yogurt/sour cream/labna. and bread I guess... sometimes my dad eats it with bread.

ok.. sorry guys Im sitting here waiting for my ride.. and so far no one has showed.. so I will keep given recipes till someone gets me lol.... I wonder if Ive been abondoned/forgotten? hmm naaaaahhh who else will cook for them?! they need me muahahaha

take care everyone, wasalam Alaikum

OHH I love to cook...a lil cookin fiend...anyway here r some easy, really yummy simple recipies...some r more suitable for summer, others winter
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Mint soup
Plain yogurt(about 1 cup for every 2 servings)
fresh mind (washed and chopped alittle)
cucumber (washed, sliced and cut into thin bits)
put as much yogurt as you need in a blender, half cup water, 1 ice cube, the mint (alot or alittle deps on your choice_,and alittle bit of the cucumber
blend until frothy.
in the bowls place a small handful of the cut cucumbers, add alittle salt, let sit 5min and then spoon in the soup.
**really good for a hot summer day**
~~~~~~
Rose Water Shake
Plain yogurt
ice
water
rose water
sugar

place all in a blender and blend
I like mine very sweet so I add alot of rose water and sugar.
~~~~~~
Halushky (best in winter)
~Beef Polish Sausage (cut into thick chunks)
~Cabbage  (leaves peeled off, washed and sliced into big thick long pieces)
~Egg Noodles (cooked al dente, its usually better to makew your own noodles but it can be very time consuming so egg noodles r a good substitute)
~onions sliced into fat thick slices
~Butter, salt, pepper
Heat a large skillet with 2 tblsp butter
once melted add in the sausage and onions
fry on medium until onions r a tad cooked
add cabbage...cook 10minutes, add noodles and cook until cabbage is wilted, onions r translucent and sausage is rich and cooked.
be sure to add pats of butter every now and then to keep it from burning.
this is sooooooooooooooo gooood
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Huevos Mexicanos my version ;-) (mexican eggs)
flour tortillas
fresh cilantro
Hot sauce
Jalepeno Cheese (sliced up nice and thin)

onions (sliced up real thin, chunked)
Eggs
turkey bacon or sausage
tomatoes (washed and smally chunked)

In a bowl mix up the eggs with most of the onions, tomatoes and a tad bit of cilantro and hot sauce, and a bit of the cheese

pour into the skillet, make a flat omlet (dont scramble)

take out, place in the turkey bacon, fry that

take out, heat up the tortilla until fluffy and warm

On the Tortilla place the egg, and lay the bacon over that
sprinkle with onion and tomato, alittle of the cheese and the hot sauce.
soooo gooooooooood
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
gosh I got more but I need my recipie book which is at home ;-(
    Here is a simple dish I made it 2night.. Its origins are from Syria. Ok You inly need 4 ingrediants for this/
1-Laban (not Labne)
2-Stew meat (beef or lamb whichever you prefer)
3-mint (or in arabic Na3na)
4-Water
 Now here are the instructions.
first boil your meat for approx 1 hour till tender (and hopefull cooked)
Now you will have to get a bowl and mix Laban with water For each cup od Laban you should put 1/4 cup of water. Mix thouroughly and add to the meat. Do not wash the meat first though because the water that the meat is cooked in is good for the taste (if you wanna wash the meat do it prior to boiling it.) Add Mint to taste (or 2 tablespoons.)
Now turn the heat down a bit and let simmer for 2 hours. Stirr often.
Thats it! Make some rice and pour the Laham wa Laban over the rice and YUMMY it is delicious.
Next thing I will try is Kibbi Labaniyah.
[color=#000000:post_uid1]Salam sister....wooow nice idea...we're gonna have to shut this topic down for Ramdan...tooo  tempting to open  and read the recipes...my mouth is watering.. hehehe
alright heres a recipe..its veryyyyyyyyy goood..and more for the veggie lovers.. and very easy, but time consuming cause the veg. take a while to cook!  unless you haev a faster way to get it cooking.then great!
okay...you need:\
1 head of cauliflour
6 big potatos
about a cup of frozen green peas
1 table spoon of this Curry spice, i belive the name is from PATAK - Curry(the commercial name).  you can get it in either mild or hot.
what to do:
- cut the potatoes up into cube sizes, the smaller the better that way it'll cook faster.
- cut the cauliflour up into small pieaces as well.. (these two steps should be done before the cooking starts)
Now ....put some oil in the pot and start cooking the potatoes...cook them till you see they are done, then add the cauliflour (mind you the cauliflour takes time to cook as well.but not as long as the potatoes).  once they are both cooked, add the green peas into the mixture.  NOW...you take one tall glass of water, and take one table spoon of the curry mix, and blend it into the glass of water.  Pour this mixture over your potatoes, cauliflour and green peas...let it mix well....and simmer.  Your house might smell a bit indian..buuut its veryyy tasty.. you can either have this as a side dish..or a meal itself.
Hope you girls enjoy this..i'll give you another reciepe, turkish, my mom taught me, very tasty as well.  but i need to remember it (so i'll ask my mom again) ..And I'll also give you girls this red rice recipe with chicken.. veryy good,but i'm sure as most of you are iraqi, you would knwo how to make the red rice and chicken!!
Enjoy... :D
[color=#000000:post_uid0]Brother Mujahid: a housemaid / cook / servant in Qatar runs from 400 QR - 800 QR a month or (about $110 - $220 USD)+ their ticket home after two years (anywhere from $800 - $1200 USD) + living expenses (room, board, food and basic necessities). Labor from Asia : India, Sri Lanka, Philippines and Indonesia is very cheap here. It sounds wonderful but having servants is a big responsibility and sometimes they are more hassle than help. God help you if they get ill or need medical treatment, or steal or run away.....
I live and work here and am married to a Qatari. The life here is wonderful, alhamdulillahi rub al alameen!
[color=#000000:post_uid0](salam)
more recipies
standard issue...meat loaf  (my kind is really moist and flavorful)
I swear a metal grater is a sistahs/bros best friend
okay ya need
ground beef (beef is best)
1 egg (mixed up)
ketchup
grated onions (real tiny)
grated garlic clove
place all in a bowel and moosh up with your hands until well mixed.
the beat mixture should be soft, smooshy but not watery and not too dry.
add a tablespooon of dry bread crumbs to dry up a bit.
add salt and pepper and more ketchup
put in loaf pan, spoon overe more ketchup (a nice layer if ketchup)
bake at 350f until cooked.
should come out juicy, flavorful, moist...basically...yummy.
some people, I find when they make ML either add in too little spicies so its bland or they add in to much bread crumbes making it taste funny and be dry or dont add any egg in so it pulls aprt.
ive found ketchup is great for meatloaf, really flavors it well
enjoy
