Dhul-Hijjah 29

Community Calendar

Event details

Will Dhul-Hijjah be 30 days this year? We don't know yet. Do you belong to a moonsighting group? Think about joining the Muslims where you live, to go out and look for the new crescent moon. The next new moon is on September 20, but sighting is expected on September 21. The Astronomical New Moon (conjunction) is on September 20, 2017 (Wednesday) at 5:30 UT. On September 20, the crescent may not be visible anywhere in the habited world. It may be seen with binoculars in Southern belt of North America, all Central America, and Northern parts of South America, however some Ulema do not allow sighting the crescent moon with an optical aid. On September 21, it will be easily visible almost everywhere in the world. (See visibility curves). http://www.moonsighting.com/1439muh.html
